and omggg all this drama is great. Little and Talon's rivalry is spectacular.
And when Flower goes out to find Reaper, she could find Flame instead, since Reaper is going to find the kit?
For
Feather, can you have them find
Whisper at the start of the patrol? You can make the patrol start now and whoever wishes to join in may follow along.
MEETING
The tabby tom stood poised on the rung of a ladder leading up to the top of the crow's nest. He had no idea why someone would be so inclined to climb all the way to the top for a simple meeting; furthermore, he was not going to tolerate the way Tempest ran the tribe previously. He was the new leader to the tribe, and he would be setting the standard from that point on. This would be his second meeting upon taking over the tribe, and so far, only good things have happened. He would give them that much.
"Attention -- members of the Black Pearl -- all eyes on me." he stated through clenched teeth, eyes narrowing to anyone that seemed bothered by him calling a meeting. "I need your attention for some brief statements, and then you may all get back to work." Shadow paused to wait for everyone to filter out of their rooms, tail flicking with annoyance at how slow they all seemed to move. Sluggish at best. He was in a bit of a temper from not getting enough sleep last night, and only two she-cats could calm him down from his moods: Little and Talon, the latter of which had been missing for quite some time.
"I would like to begin by announcing that Little and myself have been blessed, by Swashbuckler, with three extraordinary kits: Silver, Song, and Leaf." His shoulders and back straightened, pushing his head higher with the swell of pride he felt. The looks of worry and frustration on those below made him feel smug for the moment. "Rain and Fox are to thank for Little and the kits well-being." Shadow had thought about adding that in, and eventually settled on it not being able to hurt his reputation. If anything, it would appeal to the original tribers below.
"Oh, additionally, I need a patrol, I do not care who, to go along the beaches cleaning off debris. If you find anything, or anyone, of use, report back to me immediately. I want that beach spotless. Anything movable needs to be gone; I will not have my land look improper." Shadow looked for any rejections from below, hoping the tribe mates knew enough to plan patrols on their own.
"I have heard word that a few outcasts have been actually . . . thriving. If you see anyone within tribe territory, attack them. Do not question them. I do not want to hear of prisoners or confrontations. Outcasts are outcasts for a reason. Let it stay that way." Shadow was referring to Raven and her ragtag group of misfits. "I repeat this for your own clarity. Do not take anyone into the tribe without my permission. That reminds me . . . Spirit has been missing for quite some time. I believe it is decided that she is no longer one of us anymore, and that means that she must be chased out like any other. No exceptions." His informants would remain secret.
"My final topic involves the amount of food being caught. I want to see more patrols going out for food search. There are more members to care for now, and I would hope that you treat your new litter mates with respect." The complaints of his own followers not participating in the hunts was pure nonsense in his mind. The Black Pearl tribers had no decency when it came to taking care of guests properly. Permanent guests at that. "Border patrols, other than the one today, can be put on hold. Replace them with hunting patrols. I do not want to hear excuses. The Time of Falling Rain is upon us, I realize this, but your skill set should not be determined by the circumstances."
Shadow remembered one other insignificant detail mentioned earlier as well. Apprentices.
"Mentors. This is addressed to you. I need to see you pushing your trainees harder. I do not see any improvement, and their age only keeps increasing. I do not want to assign sailors with no ability to fight or hunt. I will set an assessment soon. An assessment they have never heard of previously. It will be a true test of their abilities." He planned on leading the current apprentices to the main island, and then leaving them there for three days to see how they stood up to a real test of survival. They should learn to not rely on the tribe so much in his opinion. They needed to learn to trust their own abilities and instincts.
"Speaking of apprentices, I hear that Tide has reached the proper age to become a sailor. Past the age actually. Please come up here, Tide." he waited patiently for the apprentice to reveal himself.
Shadow That Dances at Night"You are now old enough to be considered a sailor. Congratulations." he mentioned with a careless sweep of his tail, feeling no emotion whatsoever for the lowly tom below. Many probably assumed that he would at least say a few words along with his promotion, but . . . nope. There was nothing to be said. In a regular tradition, Tempest would call down upon Arcadia to accept the transition between apprentice to sailor, and then exchange meetings between the mentors. The newly appointed sailor would then have to sit vigil on the beach till dawn, but Shadow saw that as a silly fad.
"You may all return to whatever you were doing before."A voice rang out through the crowd. Directed towards him? He turned his head around to search the forms below, spotting a young sailor who was the owner of the voice.
"Finally, someone with some inititive. Take a few others with you too. You will need quite a few paws to move some of the debris.""Meeting is adjourned!" He made his way back down to the ground when he was abruptly stopped by
Eagle.
"Yes? What is it?" Shadow stated, head tilting curiously for what news he made have.

After Eagle conversation, and possibly after Little leaves with Leaf so he doesn't intrude on their conversationThe tom did not spot Little or his kits in the crowd, so he assumed they went back inside (when in reality they were searching for Leaf). Noticing a lack of prey on the pile, he decided to go ahead and start towards the jungle on the leftward side. Tiny pawprints were visible in the sand, but he did not think much of it. He must have just missed Little, Silver, and Leaf on his way out of camp, heading in towards the lake. He had been meandering along when a familiar scent stopped him in his tracks. The fur along his neck stood on end from the sudden rustling of branches, having been unaware anyone was around.
"Talon? Is that you?" he searched the brush, finding an opening where the leaves gave way to a den. The milky scent of kits hit his nose, and his eyes widened in surprise.
"Talon? When did you have kits? Who's are they?" The scent of Little was also fresh, which confused him greatly. They were not his kits from what he could see in the faint light of the den, but Leaf's scent was nearby as well.

Flower That Blooms in ShadeFlower spat in amusement at the whole "working harder" explanation by Shadow. Make her work harder? Who did he think she was? Tide was the only cat driving her to actually put some effort into her apprenticeship, and now he was going to be a sailor. They were separated. What would happen to their friendship? The she-cat remained silent during his ceremony, tail lashing in fury at how lightly Shadow took the ancient celebration. The tribe often had feasts after the graduation of an apprentice, but what feast could they have with so little food for everyone?
She glanced between Crow and Reaper who sat on either side of her. Flower knew Crow despised Shadow, but Reaper joined the tribe because of him. Was he considered loyal to the real tribe members or the rogues? His reaction, in her own opinion, was only confusion.
"Are you okay, Reaper? You seem perturbed."Upon hearing Minnow's and Crow's statement, she rose to her paws in anger.
"I know! What is his deal? We work as much as we can." That was a bit of an exaggeration, but that did not mean they needed to be pushed harder. Their mentors were already working all day gathering food. It was not their fault they did not have much time anymore.
"I despise him."It was not long before she noticed that Reaper had not responded. He was gone entirely.
"What --? Did any of you see where Reaper went?" she questioned to Minnow and Crow.
"We need to go find him!"Tags: Minnow, Tide, Reaper, Crow (plans on finding Flame if anyone wants to follow her)
Stream Where Small Fish SwimStream led the she-kit towards the nursery, where she recognized the familiar kit of Night -- Magpie.
"Magpie! Would you like to show Dawn around and introduce her to your mother?" she questioned with a polite grin.
