Rainpaw entered the camp asking her mentor if she could battle train.

Moonlight walked out of the medicine cat den, pleased it had stopped raining, but not pleased that her paws were getting muddy. She paused and thought wistfully "I wish I had an apprentice... Leafkit is a warrior... So..."

Leafkit fell asleep.

Rainpaw started walking towards the apprentice den then she thought is she needed to see the medicine cat so she rushed to the den. "What's it like to be a medicine cat?" She asked Moonlight.

Moonlight felt a rush of wind as... Rainpaw? Yes, Rainpaw, entered. Moonlight felt uncomfortable as Rainpaw asked the question. "Well... I think it feels good because I save... Or at least, try my best to save, and often do, peoples lives."

Rainpaw rushed to the herbs. "Oh this is dock!" She mewed pointing at the leaf. "And this is feverfew, Horsetail... Also do I smell honey or just marigold?" She replied.

Moonlight turned around suddenly, her nose searching for Rainpaw. "Why the sudden interest?" She wondered. She said "Slow down! And it's honey, marigold is a bit duller and a bit more sour smelling. Honey is very strong and sweet."

Rainpaw quickly turned blushing at the mistake. She walked to the honey and walked away. she licked her paw. She turned around thing about becoming a medicine cat. No, My duty is becoming a warrior. Why would I want to be a medicine and have no mate, and sit in the den all day? After all ....... After all no, I'm not becoming a medicine cat unless I'm forced to! Her mind quickly shifted. Her eyes flashed and padded over to the herbs. Do I want to be a medicine cat?! She thought I'm making a big fuss over nothing! Her eyes turned back to her bright mood. All of this thought was just a heart beat. -Or a few. Then she walked out saying " Well the happyness since hunting was good!" she mewed then she saw a leaf with water dappled on it like rained on a leaf. "I-s-.... Thi-i-i-s a sign from star clan?" She mewed at the rain leaf. "Rain leaf......" She mewed closing her eyes how the name would suit someone.. Rainleaf....

Moonlight sat down, thinking hard. "What if... What if the rain was a sign from Starclan? For Rainpaw is designated as my apprentice?"
