The tom stifled another sigh, and glanced away across camp. "...hi." he murmured back, shifting his paws slightly. Letting a silence descend, Heronleap wondered how best to try to talk to her. He glanced over, his mismatched eyes both locked on her face. "I only want to help." he murmured, twitching his ears.

"Heronleap, I like you." Swiftsong suddenly burst out.

She snuck between bushes her stomache growling with hunger as she lept to the prey pile grabbing a vole then sneaking into the warriors den

He blinked, taken aback. Well, that showed how oblivious he'd been. However, a smiled grew on his muzzle. He leaned over and touched his muzzle to her ear briefly. "Thanks. I must say I do enjoy your company quite a bit, more so than I'd thought." he rumbled, wrapping his tail over his paws.

Swiftsong nodded; looking away. "I'm going to go now." She mewed, quickly slipping into the warriors den without another word.

"Fine." She replied a little too fast, walking to the back of the den.

Well, he'd said something wrong. Heronleap lowered his head and exhaled a short puff of breath. He was new to these sorts of things, he supposed, but still. The tom lay down and flexed out his paws, resting his head upon them. He'd try to sort this out soon, he hoped. He just couldn't understand she-cats. Ah well.
