Rainpaw's brilliant green gaze followed the swirling movements of a robin fluttering across the sky. She was half-hidden behind the apprentice's den, her cozy little hideaway, as she called it. She often kept to herself here, when not busy training or hunting. It was a nice place for her to relax and sometimes nap. Of course, she would have to leave it soon; she knew Brambleheart would be wondering where she was. Though he may have given up on waiting for her and simply left camp without her. Rainpaw didn't mind either way; she would catch up to him no matter what. With a quick lick to her chest, she slunk out from behind the den, straightening up and gazing around the clearing. She sniffed at the ground, scenting her mentor's still-fresh scent leading towards the camp exit. She hesitated on following, but decided she had nothing here in camp to do. She could at least make use of her skills and track him. Delighted by the thought of surprising Brambleheart, she darted through the camp entrance into the rustling undergrowth.
Rainpaw pressed her nose to the leafy forest floor, inhaling deeply. She pushed away the scents of mud, fungi, leaves, and wetness to find Brambleheart's scent trail. Flicking her tail, she began to trot along, long fur swishing as she moved. Only a few moments passed; the trail grew fresher, and Rainpaw sped up. He must be very close to camp. She lifted her head slightly, now using her sight to search for her mentor's pelt. At last she spotted him through the green foliage, and immediately quieted. Stalking carefully through the ferns, she waggled her haunches, then sprang out behind her mentor with a soft yowl of greeting.
