Marock sniffed around, catching the smells of the pack again as he tried to catch a scent of food. The packs scent was giving him troubles. Soon he caught a faint scent of one as he followed it. Closer and closer he got. The wind slightly shifted as he was about to loss the scent. Then a rabbit hopped out of hiding. Seeing it, Marock chased after it as he chased after his prey. Then he lunged forward, biting down on the rabbit as he killed it very quickly. He soon settled down as he padded to a tree and lay down next to it. Eating his catch. The only thing he didn't know was that the wind shift caused his scent to go into the packs territory.

Arashi nodded his head every so often, to show that he was indeed paying attention to what she was saying to him. Even though she claimed to be a very bad hunter, she looked like she could stand her own in a fight. When she said she had lied, this sort of caught him off guard, but he wasn't to concerned. The lie had not been a full out, the pack is going to all die because I lied type of lie. It was more of a, for my own pride's sake I lied, sort of lie. He didn't think that that sort of lie was punishable, since she told the truth only a few short moments after initially telling the lie.

When she introduced herself, he gave her a slight dip of his head. "I welcome you to the pack, Shuvara. he gave her a welcoming smile, "Here we do not put wolves to work, only in dire situations." he also wanted this to be clear, they were not one of the packs who abused their pack members by forcing them to work in horrible conditions for the benefit of the Alpha, Beta, or even Delta.

He turned to Wotai, and beckoned him to come and introduce himself. However, as he hoped Wotai was going to do this, he said, "I infer from your statement earlier that you will not be participating in Black Dawn?" he did not wish to be pushy, but by tradition, only ten male wolves and ten female wolves were permitted to partake in the traditional event. Some past Alpha's had even thought about changing the event from every year to every five to ten years because of the significance it had on the pack. It often brought it growing numbers, and often times wolves left after the event. However, wolves who did this were not allowed back, for it was a sign of major disrespect. If one did this and tried to come back for whatever reason, the Alpha is supposed to send out a team of warriors to kill them, a most brutal punishment, which thankfully Arashi has never had to do.

He looked at Shuvara,and replied in a polite manor."I am Wotai,Beta male of this pack.I am pleased you chose this pack as your own,aswell." He stood,and bowed his head,in greeting.He sat again,and set his pale eyes on Arashi.
"You are correct. I don't wish to participate in Black Dawn this year, maybe the next.But, I feel I haven't trained myself properly this year."He knew the words he had spoken were very well a lie, he just didn't want to be in such a high position.He felt he needed to work for the pack,and not just lounge.He sighed mentally, he enjoyed the competition though.It was fun,but wolves did take chances, accepting it.
He rememberd his first time,training.But in the end, he didn't do it for the same reasion he still refuses it today.

I wish I could have RPed more but I don't seem to have a place in it... you are all too amazing of Role players! but anyway, I wish you all an amazing RPing time and hope to see this become one of the most popular, it is amazing and well constructed Sorry to be a bother}

Arashi felt the grass flattening out under his feet, half of it going to the right of his paws, and the other half going out the left side. The wind was blowing at a steady pase, but the heat of the sun at noon was beginning to subside due to the beginning of autumn in a few days. He listened as Wotai stepped forward to introduce himself, as he had given him the hint to do. As he listened to them both say why they were not partaking in Black Dawn, he nodded and gave them both a smile and said,

"It isn't for everyone."

Indeed, the competition of Black Dawn required grueling training, and not everyone's bodies could withstand the amount of physical and metal training that was required to even have a chance to compete in Black Dawn. He respected both of their decisions to the utmost degree, and he hoped that they both knew that. "Seeing as you told the truth about your skills, when you were just going to lie, I do not believe that we need you to prove yourself, as you already have with your honesty." Then, looking at Wotai, he remembered how he had been on the way to a hunt, and how he actually was beginning to become quite hungry. However, he did not want to be rude, because he was actually sort of enjoying their conversation.

Alicia stood poised as the fish who had collided with her leg attempted to wriggle around her. The water lapped up against her legs as she waited for the magic word. Go. When Boreal said it, her heart fluttered with joy. At last, a real competition. and everything seemed to go in slow motion as she thrust her jaw into the water. The water splattered all over her forehead, and it seemed to part as her muzzle became wedged in the water as her powerful jaws closed around the fish. Then everything became real time again, just like that. Her face emerged from the water only to see Boreal having caught a fish as well. She literally threw the fish onto the river bank, and then turned to catch his eyes. In her brief look at him, it appeared that he was ahead of her. She winked,

"Honey, it ain't over that easy."

Her more competitive side was beginning to come out as she thrust her head in the water the moment she saw another flicker of silver on the surface. She then repeated the same movement that she had before, and she strengthened her stance. The catch was made in a much more fluid motion, and the fish was tossed onto shore. Her eyes instantly were on the move for the next fish. Her next target.

Boreal -

He clenched his teeth. No way am I losing to her! Fresh determination coursed through him as he repeated his clumsy leap, trapping another lively fish in his jaws. He slowed his movements for a moment to watch Alicia hunt - she was much more graceful than he, her movements more fluid and complete. The water droplets that the two spread around glittered like tiny emeralds in the air, before falling back to the river almost as if in slow motion. Boreal resumed his original hunting speed, heart racing with both exhilaration and an unfamiliar, tightening feeling in his chest.

With a shock, a sneaky idea came to him, and he used a powerful foreleg to swipe at the water. Two unsuspecting fish were thrown skywards, and he grinned upon seeing that his plan had worked. Expecting to catch one with a deft leap, he readied himself to jump and jumped in surprise when it collided with his face. Pride stung, and the fish dazed, he scooped it up and threw it embarrassedly to his pile on the shore. In doing so, he shot a nervous glance behind him, hoping that Alicia hadn't noticed his blunder.

Shuvara

The she-wolf dipped her head. "It's good to meet you, Wotai." Shuvara grinned, wagging her tail in a friendly manner. She then turned her head to Arashi, murmuring: "No, though the wolves who participate are among the bravest in the world." Shuvara bowed her head, remembering the stories she'd heard of the terrible desths and glorious victories that occured as a result of Black Dawn. "...If you see fit not to test me, I will trust your judgement." Shuvara barked, letting out a soft yawn of submissive respect.

The she-wolf's white fur was ruffled by the rolling wind, but the amount of heat beating down on her back was decreasing slowly. A browned leaf tumbled down from a tree, yet another reminder that autumn was on it's way. Whilst each season played it's part, Shuvara disliked the feeling of tense expectancy that autumn brought with it- for after the season of fall was winter, the harshest of the all.
