Rubia

"Oh..." i say quietly, feeling a little shy after his remark. "I was going to find out what that noise was when you just kinda showed up" i say quietly, trying to make out what the noise was. It got a little closer and i quickly turned my head, straining my eyes, trying to see what was making all the ruckus.

Gustav

Gustav turned his head, scanning the area hoping to see where the sound was coming from or what was making it. When he saw nothing, he shook is head, tossing his mane around. "It is quite odd to hear such a noise without knowing what could be making it..." he snorted, trailing off a bit. He took a few steps towards where he thought the sound was coming from, not letting this guard down in case it was something that could harm either of them but he was more concerned for her safety even though they just met.

Rubia

"Yes, it is..." i say quietly. I trotted off in the direction the sound was coming from then looked back at Gustav "you comin'?" i ask, already knowing the answer. I flick my tail, trying to get the gnats, that where swarming everywhere, away from me.

Gustav

Gustav gave a simple nod then trotted after her. His pacing slowed and he looked around, not really trusting the surroundings anymore. His leopard appaloosa pelt easily stood amongst the cluttered trees, making him a pretty easy target but he didn't mind. He flicked his tail, lifting his head some trying to pick up any unusual scents that could be a little out of the ordinary. He didn't speed up any while he walked, he wanted to make sure that he didn't get to far ahead of the mare.

Rubia

I look around then finally spotted what was making the noise. It was a little cub of some sort and it was making a horrid screeching sound. I approach it cautiously, i wanted to know what it was so i needed a better view. It kept on crying, or what ever it was doing, not even noticing me.

Gustav

Gustav stopped. reeling back a bit before putting himself between the cub and Rubia. "Don't go near it! It's a cougar cub. The mother must be around so stay away, she could be simply sitting in the bushes watching us." he snorted, looking over at the cub. He nudged her softly, hoping it would get her to move away from the cub and back to walking.

"What's a cougar?" i ask curiously as i peek my head around him to look at the cub. "Dont push me..." i say, a bit of frustration in my voice. "That cub doesn't look like it could hurt a thing, i dont see why your so concerned..."

Gustav

Gustav could tell she wasn't happy so he took a step back then looked back at the cub. "It's a big feline that roams around, hunting for other animals. This cub sounds like it's calling for it's mother." he said before looking away from the cub, watching to see if the mother was around, lurking in the bushes. He rotated his ears, seeing if any other sounds started to occur.

Rubia

I came a little closer, looking at the little critter as it wailed. It looked up at me with its blue eye's and stopped its crying for a bit. I lower my head down and looked it over, it was so tiny. "awww, look at this lil' guy! he's so cute" i say and smile

Gustav

Gustav kept looking around, glancing over at her a few times to see if she was still looking at the creature. He was surprised it had stopped cried after the mare had approached it but he didn't let it get to him. He shook his head then pawed at the ground before turning his head to look at her. He smiled as he watched her smile but quickly let it disappear then looked down at the cub. It was quite small, probably a few weeks old but was strong enough to follow it's mother around.
