Shadow That Dances at Night
"Hello Night. I hope it is alright to be joining you here." he commented, though reluctantly. It was better in his mind to maintain the peace, especially where kits were concerned. Night did not seem to greet them with much harshness after all -- perhaps she was not as cold-hearted as the rest of her tribe mates?
Shadow whipped his head around when he first noticed Leaf making a hasty escape. The white blur overhead told him it was probably a pelican or seagull. A pelican would have better things to do than bother a kit, but a seagull was often dumb enough to pull tricks that result in getting it killed. He rose to his paws, calling out in a stern manner,"Leaf, come back here now." He did not mean to scare Leaf in any way; discipline sometimes required a hardened voice to get the point across. "Strange birds might be dangerous." Shadow explained, glancing at Little for backup on the matter. He was an awkward father in his mind, but did others think differently? The only discipline he ever commanded was from his followers, or sailors, and they could handle a lot more than a yell. Shadow led the way back to Little's side if Leaf listened to him, giving each kit a small farewell with an affectionate rub of his cheek. "I am going to call the tribe together now. Insolent beings they are. Our followers know what to do without having to be told." Shadow complained with a huff, not wishing to leave the comfort of his close-knit family. "I will return soon. Will you be watching?"

MEETING
The tabby tom stood poised on the rung of a ladder leading up to the top of the crow's nest. He had no idea why someone would be so inclined to climb all the way to the top for a simple meeting; furthermore, he was not going to tolerate the way Tempest ran the tribe previously. He was the new leader to the tribe, and he would be setting the standard from that point on. This would be his second meeting upon taking over the tribe, and so far, only good things have happened. He would give them that much.
"Attention -- members of the Black Pearl -- all eyes on me." he stated through clenched teeth, eyes narrowing to anyone that seemed bothered by him calling a meeting. "I need your attention for some brief statements, and then you may all get back to work." Shadow paused to wait for everyone to filter out of their rooms, tail flicking with annoyance at how slow they all seemed to move. Sluggish at best. He was in a bit of a temper from not getting enough sleep last night, and only two she-cats could calm him down from his moods: Little and Talon, the latter of which had been missing for quite some time.
"I would like to begin by announcing that Little and myself have been blessed, by Swashbuckler, with three extraordinary kits: Silver, Song, and Leaf." His shoulders and back straightened, pushing his head higher with the swell of pride he felt. The looks of worry and frustration on those below made him feel smug for the moment. "Rain and Fox are to thank for Little and the kits well-being." Shadow had thought about adding that in, and eventually settled on it not being able to hurt his reputation. If anything, it would appeal to the original tribers below.
"Oh, additionally, I need a patrol, I do not care who, to go along the beaches cleaning off debris. If you find anything, or anyone, of use, report back to me immediately. I want that beach spotless. Anything movable needs to be gone; I will not have my land look improper." Shadow looked for any rejections from below, hoping the tribe mates knew enough to plan patrols on their own.
"I have heard word that a few outcasts have been actually . . . thriving. If you see anyone within tribe territory, attack them. Do not question them. I do not want to hear of prisoners or confrontations. Outcasts are outcasts for a reason. Let it stay that way." Shadow was referring to Raven and her ragtag group of misfits. "I repeat this for your own clarity. Do not take anyone into the tribe without my permission. That reminds me . . . Spirit has been missing for quite some time. I believe it is decided that she is no longer one of us anymore, and that means that she must be chased out like any other. No exceptions." His informants would remain secret.
"My final topic involves the amount of food being caught. I want to see more patrols going out for food search. There are more members to care for now, and I would hope that you treat your new litter mates with respect." The complaints of his own followers not participating in the hunts was pure nonsense in his mind. The Black Pearl tribers had no decency when it came to taking care of guests properly. Permanent guests at that. "Border patrols, other than the one today, can be put on hold. Replace them with hunting patrols. I do not want to hear excuses. The Time of Falling Rain is upon us, I realize this, but your skill set should not be determined by the circumstances."
Shadow remembered one other insignificant detail mentioned earlier as well. Apprentices.
"Mentors. This is addressed to you. I need to see you pushing your trainees harder. I do not see any improvement, and their age only keeps increasing. I do not want to assign sailors with no ability to fight or hunt. I will set an assessment soon. An assessment they have never heard of previously. It will be a true test of their abilities." He planned on leading the current apprentices to the main island, and then leaving them there for three days to see how they stood up to a real test of survival. They should learn to not rely on the tribe so much in his opinion. They needed to learn to trust their own abilities and instincts.
"Speaking of apprentices, I hear that Tide has reached the proper age to become a sailor. Past the age actually. Please come up here, Tide." he waited patiently for the apprentice to reveal himself.
Flower That Blooms in Shade
Flower was striding out of the apprentice den with Minnow in tow when Shadow called the meeting. She cast a quick, exasperated glance in Minnow's direction. She rolled her eyes with a huff, not wishing to deal with Shadow's tyranny for at least five minutes of her life. She gestured with her tail towards a corner of the camp where they could sit in peace -- and hopefully not attract any attention. Flower raced over to Tide, attempting to prod him with her tail to jolt him awake. "Quick, Shadow's called a meeting." The she-cat noticed Crow as well, and quietly wondered if she would be joining them at their seat. Flower pushed back the tinge of jealousy, focusing her attention on Tide, who appeared to have just woken up.
Flower also wondered where Reaper was off to. Would he make it back in time to hear the meeting?

Stream Where Small Fish Swim
Stream nodded her head in approval of her request, taking note of a few important names mentioned. Who was Darkness for one? She had never heard of a Darkness during her lifetime, unless she was blanking. Stream enjoyed knowing everyone in the tribe by name, but was there someone she had missed? Maybe this is one of Shadow's new kits, but they do not smell alike. The ginger-and-white-tabby disappeared for a moment, returning seconds later with a hare from the Freshkill pile on the main deck. Cats had begun gathering for a meeting, and she caught bits and pieces during her time up there: ". . . do not take anyone into the tribe without my permission". She brushed the thought aside with a shrug of her shoulders. She would rather follow the Arcadian code over the word of a heathen. Stream dropped the hare in front of Dawn, giving a welcoming gesture for her to eat up. "It is fresh. Probably caught by the dawn patrol this morning."
