"See! You are flirting with us!" Kappa raged. "Ugh! Ash, Lany, we don't have time for this! Come on, let's work on finding a way out instead of chatting with arrogant males!"

"Strict!" Leatherwing chimed and Kappa gritted her teeth to hold back a biting remark.

Ash sighed "loosen up Kappa, we have plenty of time to figure out some ideas to get out of here. Have some fun."She said smiling at Kappa and Leath.

"Shut up, Leatherwing." Kappa grumbled.

Ash raised an eyebrow, she turned her violet eyes to Lany. She was surprised Lany hadn't commented on the unfolding drama in front of her. Ash turned back to Kappa and Leath.

Leatherwing replied, "Oh, ever since I was born. I live on the far west side though, I doubt you've seen me. It's pretty quiet where I roost, not many other bats. I'm colony-less."

Kappa gritted her teeth. Ugh! This is a trap not a family reunion! Can't anyone take this seriously? She was about to fly off in her rage when she noticed a bright blue band with the numerals 571 etched into it. The tawny Brightwing gasped. "Leath... you're banded?!"

Leatherwing looked at her, his gold and blue eyes unflinching. "Erm... yeah. Aren't you?"

Kappa suppressed a shiver. Her mothers voice echoed in her thoughts; Beware the banded bats... they are cursed by Zotz. Kap, if you ever encounter a banded bat, stay far away. Only danger will follow. Kappa flapped backwards, startled by the sudden memory. "Ash!" she cried. "We've got to leave this place!"
