“Well you could come with me and wait for her. You would be safe and warm in our pack.” Snowstorm offered. It seemed better than waiting in the bush. She only hoped the pack wouldn’t mind having Holland stay. “What is your name?” She asked.

"Holland." Holland stated. "Momma said it's like my dad's name. His name was Holly.".

“Well it’s a very thoughtful thing to be named after your dad. If you would like I could take you back to my pack. You could wait for your mom and be safe. We have food and warm beds. It’s a lot warmer then a bush.” Snowstorm said. If I bring this pup back to the pack I hope Velvetstar does not get angry. It just doesn’t feel right leaving a pup so young all alone. She thought, hoping Holland might take her up on her offer.

“Yes I do. Rabbit is my favorite.” Snowstorm said. She looked at Holland smiling. He certainly was cute. “Would you like me to carry you or do you think you can walk? It’s not too far.” She added.

“Yes I do. Rabbit is my favorite.” Snowstorm said. She looked at Holland smiling. He certainly was cute. “Would you like me to carry you or do you think you can walk? It’s not too far.” She added.

"I've walked long distances before, so I think I got it." Holland nodded, his eyes shimmering. "And I'm starving!".

“I guess you would be. There’s nothing for pups to eat out here.” Snowstorm chuckled. She made sure to slow her pace so it was easier for Holland to keep up. Please let Velvetstar be okay with having a pup possibly join us. She thought. Snowstorm had no idea she was so good with pups until now. Hopefully someone would take Holland in as their own pup. Snowstorm was so distracted by her thoughts she hadn’t noticed they were almost at the entrance to camp. And it wasn’t dark yet. “Come Holland. I’m sure everyone will like you.” She said before walking into camp and checking to see if Holland was still with her.

Holland shrugged. "My siblings never liked me. They made fun of me for my hearing." He suddenly looked sad when he thought about them. "I wonder why they made fun of me in the first place. There's nothing wrong with me, right?".

Holland smiled a little as he looked up at Snowstorm. "You have strange names. I like strange names!" He said. "Snowstorm is not at all like my name.".

Spotted sighed as she curled up in a small cave in a large pine tree. She buried her long snout onto her paws, realizing how alone she was. As she lay there, she picked up the faint scent of a rat. Getting up from her comfortable spot, she followed the scent to a nearby tree with a hole at the base of it, a large rat cleansing itself in the shade of the tree. Dropping to a crouch, a moment passed before she jumped onto the rat, fatally nipping its neck. Rat in her jaws, she made her way back to her tree. As she munched on the rat, she picked up the scents of other dogs. Venturing from her spot, she made her way towards a larger rock. Looking over the edge of it, she picked up the scents of Holland and Snowstorm. She pressed on farther into the territory.
