A sigh of relief escaped Robinflight's mouth at the approval of his hunting idea. He watched as the calico she-cat slipped by. Starclan help me. There was something about Maplestrike that he just couldn't feel comfortable about. The sleek tom rose to his paws, taking in a deep breath. He padded out of the camp, following right behind his mate. His padding came to a halt as he noticed she had caught on to some prey. With curious eyes, the tom watched silently. Impressed by her catch, he smiled affectionately. Robinflight's mouth opened slightly, taking in the taste of a nearby vole. "My turn." He whispered before taking on his usual hunting position. Silently, the tom followed this scent. Upon sighting it, he narrowed his eyes, focusing on where to jump. Not wasting much time the agile tom leaped and gave the vole a death blow. Picking it up, he trotted back over to join Maplestrike. "Looks like we're doing pretty good together."

Pearpelt frowned slightly. "We already have a cats out patrolling, so I really don't think another is necessary. Also, I saw Owlpaw on his way to the training grounds with Hawktalon earlier, so he wouldn't be able to join us," he said slowly, glancing at Spiderleg. Besides, I'm a warrior, not a hunter, he thought to himself. However, he didn't want to disappoint his apprentice. And maybe she will become a hunter, who knows? Hesitantly, he spoke again. "We could go hunting ourselves, I suppose. Spiderleg, you're free to join us if you'd like."

☞EAGLEFROST glanced over at his mate as he felt her soft pelt mingle with his own. His pale green eyes softened for a moment, a sense of pity growing inside of him for the new leader. Leading a clan was made infinitely harder without a deputy to share the burden. Thank Starclan Quietstar had finally settled on an appropriate candidate for the position. Though he wouldn't admit it, the stocky tom was very curios as to which cat was best suited. In turn, this meant he wanted to hurry the patrol process up as much as possible so the pair could go off and privately discuss the matter. "A deputy will surely make this easier. You won't have to be preoccupied with patrols unless you choose to be, and the organization will fall primarily to the deputy rather than you." The unimpressed warrior scowled at the congregation of what he could only describe as mouse-brains. "I can't believe these are the cats meant to protect us." he muttered half to himself. Eaglefrost glanced at the group present, thoughtfully considering which of the cats would be the most efficient. "I think it's about time you bossed this lot around. Without your guidance, they can't seem to tell their paws from their ears." The tom grumbled, though he gave his mate a wry smile.

☞WRENTALON sat beside the hole that protected her assortment of fresh-kill. Thoroughly satisfied with her collection for the day, the hunter opted to wait for the rest of her patrol to return in order to tally the prey count for each team and declare a winner. While she waited, the lithe, pretty she-cat decided she deserved a moment of relaxation and reflection. She lowered herself to the ground beside the hidden prey, its aroma taunting her slightly though she knew better than to ever take fresh-kill before everyone else had taken their share. Wrentalon lay in the dappled sunshine that cascaded through the trees, her pelt cast in a pattern of light and shadows. A gentle purr started in her throat as her pelt soaked up the warmth, her pale green eyes becoming half lidded. Wrentalon's thoughts turned to the second clan meeting of the day where the new deputy would take their place. Who could it possibly be? They'd have to be smart, loyal, level-headed, dedicated. Becoming a deputy was no easy thing and she would commend the cat lucky enough to assume that burden.

☞BEARPAW showed a side of himself to Wolfheart that very few cats earned the right to see. The large apprentice let himself relax around her, even cracking a smile here and there. Now, he could feel the excitement buzzing in his paws at the prospect of trying his new invention. "Well I've always wanted to train without the use of my eyes as a way to hone my other senses. So many cats rely on their sight during battles, neglecting their hearing and touch. I want to learn how to rely on just my other sense alone. Maybe they'll become sharper and more useful for attacks in heavy undergrowth or darkness." The charcoal gray tom looked expectantly across from the hollow, pale green eyes sparkling with anticipation as he waited for his mentor to voice her opinion. As he waited, Bearpaw allowed his body to stretch out and become limber. As a rule, he always practiced proper warming up to ensure that his body was prepared for the training it would endure.

Elmwind blinked. He wished his mate was here. They normally had good conversations. He shrugged and watches as Sorrelpaw went over to the nursery.

Her face lit up. “Y-You’re asking me on a patrol?” She murmured, blushing “Yea of course I’ll go!”

Sorrelpaw-she-cat-apprentice

She shrugged and went back out to the camp. She looked around hoping to find Bearpaw. She had liked him since they were kits. He was a few moons older but that didn’t bother her. She sighed, wishing to talk to him.

Acornheart's ears flickered briefly in amusement at the she-cat's reaction. The fish had seemed to continuously slipped out of her grasp leaving her with enough time to only catch two and a squirrel that had wandered to the edge of the water, but at least they were plump and would fill a few bellies. She purred lightly at the praise, feeling bad she hadn't caught more.

"Thanks! Looks like you did well for yourself too today." She complimented the other she-cat, digging up her own little hole next to Wrentalons and storing her own prey.

Acornheart's tail flickered in thought at the question she had been asked, "Well... to be fair probably you or Eaglefrost. I mean, Eaglefrost has smarts and the muscle to back it but a deputy needs to be good with their clanmates. He can sorta be an aggressor but he's also very loyal and brave. You're fair and thoughtful though and I guess just more... level-headed? I mean I could see either one of you as my leader one day." She shrugged, having thought a bit on the subject.

"I'll certainty do my best!" He purred back in response, tension he didn't know he had been holding slowly releasing and a warm sensation washing over his heart. He knew the she-cat would already be a fantastic mother, he just hoped he could follow in her pawsteps.

Ashfrost noticed out of the corner of his eyesight Sorrelpaw returning and making gooey eyes at Bearpaw, he turned and called to her.

"Warriors den Sorrelpaw! I said if there's no one who needs new bedding in the nursery check in the warriors den!" He attempted to remind the she-cat with a huff, "You can talk with the other apprentices after or while you collect moss!" He added a bit more compassionately.
