after a few minutes he just gave up, something abnormal for a cat like blueswallow, the most stubborn and stupid kid out there. ah, but what was there not to love? his fur was just so fluffy and his overall demeanor made him both childish and mature when absolutely needed. he would let out a yawn and sit near the prey pile, waiting somewhat impatiently for the patrol to leave so he could get his work done for the day.

Littlepaw giggled when she saw a butterfly, and strayed slightly off the path to chase it. When she returned to her mentors side and heard her praise, she was chuffed. "Thanks, Battuft! I'm gonna' be the best leader this clan's ever seen." With that, she skipped on ahead, only coming face to face with the badger! "Oh my, StarClan help me!" Littlepaw skidded to a halt, her eyes wide and afraid, her fur spiking straight up. She let out a whimper, backing away slowly. She knew not to make any jumpy movements, but her and Battuft may have to run.

Mothtail had given up looking for Hawkpaw. She couldn't find the little furball anywhere, so she resorted to sitting alone. "A peaceful day. Time to rest." She laid in the sun cheerily.

"Uh," Swallow started, carefully wrapping his big tail around his limbs, "W-Worried about the patrol, I suppose? You just look, kinda... Out of it, I guess." This question was pointed towards Skyleap, who truly seemed a little depressed.

Pebbleheart was in the warrior's den, trying to keep panic attacks away. What if her babies died today? The idea sent a few more convulsions through her spine in anxiety, yet she was breathing normally for the time being.

Ferretstripes gaze strayed to Bearstar when he saw his older brother leave his den and look around, apparently for someone. He then looked back to Fogpaw, pleasantly surprised by his compliance. "He agreed to let the apprentices come and he can't show too much favoritism now can he?" He asked with a light mew. Ferretstripe thought himself responsible enough to protect Fogpaw, he wouldn't let him go rushing head first into any danger anyways. "If you do what me and the other warriors tell you there's no reason you won't be safe."

Battuft's eyes became reptilian slits when she saw the striped face of the badger and she took a few quick steps closer, puffing her fur up around her muscled frame and lightly flexing her claws. If that ugly beast took so much as a sniff at Littlepaw she was going to leap into action and attack it herself. If only to make sure he apprentice was safe. She wouldn't dare flee and risk leading it back to camp whilst Littlepaw remained here.

Littlepaw anxiously fell against her mentor's side. "What do we do, Battuft?" She hissed to her mentor. "Shall I run back to camp and fetch help?" Her little eyes looked up at the older cat, and she shook with fear. The ginger cat was usually quick, but she wondered how fast she could truly run when somebody she cared for was in danger.

Skyleap's usually calm, open personality was angered by the fact that Blueswallow had just called her out of it. She breathed out heavily, trying not to show she was angry. She wrinkled her nose. "I'm not out of it, I'm just not in it I suppose. I want to get this badger attack over and done with."

this caused the warrior to tense up at her change and break all eye contact, "Oh. Yeah, I can relate, kinda. Not only is it because it could cause terror, sure, but I don't think my stomach's gonna be able to gnaw on itself much longer," he tried to joke, unfortunately it would just stir up more awkward silence and he'd let out a disappointed sigh and slump a bit.

deciding to go over and comfort her mate, pebble dragged herself to bearstar and gave him a light nuzzle below the chin, yet even she couldn't hide the worried rings around her optics.

Ferretstripe swept his eyes over the camp and then shook his head to Bearstar. Those two in his opinion were capable of looking after themselves, especially Battuft. She wouldn't let it on, but she cared for Littlepaw like nobody else. He then turned back to Fogpaw "Now we might not have to kill it, we might just scare it off, Killing a badger is a lot harder than scaring it away." He meowed with all good humor to his tone. Fogpaw would be a fine warrior some day, with a little discipline.

Battuft eyed the larger creature through the foliage, moving as little as possible before turning to her apprentice and nudging her shoulder "Run back to camp...Tell Bearstar it's here and get help" She agreed, touching her nose to Littlepaws "As fast as you can" she added, then gestured back to camp with a sweep of her tail. She would try to keep it here as long as she could. Maybe if she got it's attention and fled up a tree she could hold it here with minimal damage to herself.
