Spiderheart looked up from Snowfoot's body to Tidestar, tears running down his face. "She fell from a tree," he explained in a cracked voice.

"I-Is she still alive?!" Tidestar asked, alarmed. What had she missed? Had several others of her warriors died?! Her medicine cats were nowhere to be found!

Spiderheart pressed his ear to Snowfoot's chest, hoping, praying for a heartbeat, but there was none. He slowly pulled back and shook his head. "No...No, she isn't." His voice could barely be heard.

Tidestar's eyes clouded with sadness. She placed her tail on Spiderheart's shoulder comfortingly. He loved her.. "I'm so sorry... She'll be buried first thing next morning. We'll have the clan say goodbye to her now. You seem to be the closest to her, would you like to sit vigil for her?"

Spiderheart gave a small, barely noticeable nod. All the light had faded from his eyes.

"Wanna go on an--" Beechpaw cut herself off when she caught sight of Tidestar and Spiderheart huddled beside a limp, pale gray tabby. "Hey, what's going on over there?"

Snowfoot saw a figure that looked like her mother, Blizzardstar and said " w-wait no I want to be with Spiderheart! I cant be here I don't want to be!" Then her mother said " I'm sorry Snowfoot. It was time anyway. You would have gotten murdered if it hadn't happened"
