Tortoisestep's tail waved happily as Pebblestar awed over his catch. He was about to thank her when she started moving again and his tail fell back down. He ran to catch up with her even though his bad paw was throbbing from so much running. He quickly buried the sparrow and limped back over to her. They were finally catching up to the group. He cleared his throat deciding to come out with it before they got too close to the others. He was tired of waiting for her to pick up on his hints. He sat down firmly and suddenly and cleared his throat. "Pebblestar. Please come here." He said respectfully yet forcefully.

Stripetail let out an impatient sigh. Pebblestar and Tortoisestep were taking forever. Of course he wasn't angry that they were lagging but Pebblestar was leading the patrol after all and she couldn't lead it if she wasn't even with the group. After the others kept asking and telling him to go back he caved in. Turning around he slowly made his way over to the two. "Hey sorry to interrupt the love fest but the others are becoming very impatient and ready to just go off on their own." His stormy blue-gray eyes flicked over to Tortiosestep and back to Pebblestar. The gray tom wasn't exactly sure if the two liked eachother but most cats didn't ditch a group unless their was something going on. Which reminded him of all the times he slipped away from his hunting party to go hunt with his mate, Silverwind.
((I couldn't help myself and I had to interrupt the lovey moment. Stripetail is one of my faves and he tends to come in at the worst possible moments and ruin them.))

Looking at Stripetail, a look of confusion glazed over her eyes as she cocked her head to the side, " I did tell you you could go on without us," she shrugged "I stayed behind to help." Her tail was flicking impatiently now, "And currently, us two have one very nice sparrow, and the rest of you have nothing." She padded up to the rest of the group, "Okay, Today we'll be hunting in pairs,Flowerpaw, you go with Tortoisestep, and Stripetail, you come with me." then she looked over at Tortoisestep, "Oh! What did you want to tell me again?"

Stripetail shrugged since the other practically begged him to go find Pebblestar. When she was naming the pairs, she was actually confused why she didn't make herself and Tortiosestep a pair.

Tortoisestep's mouth was wide as pebblestar named groups. No. He HAD to talk to her. He cleared his throat and quietly whispered a white-lie to Pebblestar in hopes they would at least get a moment alone. "Pebblestar, please, don't make me go with Flowerpaw. We don't get along and she's always teasing me about my foot. Can I go in your group instead?"

((and Toroisestep is going to give it all he has just to win her heart! XD))

Stripetail decided to help out,"I think that's a good idea. I actually told Flowerpaw I would help her improve her stalking." Stripetail gently nudged the tom forward with his shoulder. "And he is a wonderful hunter."

Though Tortoisestep appreciated Stripetail's help the nudge made him stumble forward and fall right in front of her. He just hoped that Pebblestar hadn't noticed as he stumble clumsily to his paws, pelt burning. "Thanks," he told Stripetail nonetheless. He had just been trying to help.

She watched as Tortoisestep tumbled fowerd and asked to join her group, How..cute she thought, then crossly she added,Stupid, don't get yourself pulled into this again. Smiling sweetly at Tortoisestep she said out loud, "Sure, we'll go hunt by the stream, Flowerpaw can go with Stripetail." tilting her head ever so slightly, she started off towards the river, not as fast as she normally would go because of Tortosiestep's maimed foot.

(Oh, I have an idea, why doesn't a fox or something attack Pebblestar, and Tortoisestep can come to the rescue? Pebblestar could then change his name to something that doesn't insult his foot then, IDK, what do you think?))

Tortoisestep smiled as Pebblestar said that he could join her. He glanced back at Stripetail and put his tail around Stripetails shoulders as he walked away as a thank you. He limped up next to Pebblestar hoping that his words wouldn't become jumbled up as he told her his feelings. He decided to start the conversation casually as he didn't know how ready she was yet, "Nice day huh?" He started, searching her eyes for some kind of feelings towards him.

"It is a nice day, isn't it." She smiled happily as she flowed around the shrubs and bushes that were in her path. Looking up at the sky she said, "I wonder if we'll ketch any birds today.." Skipping lightly ahead, she opened her mouth and let all the scents of the moor flood over it. Accept she couldn't scent anything. The wind was blowing the wrong way, letting all scents escape her. bounding back to Tortoisestep, she said, "The wind is behind us, so rely on your eyes to find prey," Just then, a strong growl came through a shrub just a few mouse-lenghts away, Pebblestar stared at it wide-eyed, the scent finely overwhelming her nostrils, "Fox!"
