Stripetail raised his tail,"I'll go." The gray tom padded toward the rock, his striped tail high in the air.

~Smoothstone~

Smoothstone fluffed up his tail and stood in front of the Great Rock, "I'll go to, if there's still room." He said, but his mind was still wandering back to his night with Littlefur (that's what her warrior name is right? x3). They had had some much fun together...his mind snapped bcd to the present as he looked up at his leader with shiny blue eyes and a smile.

"Alright, Smoothstone, Stripetail, Myself, I'll also take Flowerpaw, we need one more cat for a full patrol." Pebblestar looked down at the crowd of cats with liquid blue eyes, wondering who else would join them.

Tortoisestep came tumbling out of the warriors den suddenly. "Wait! Pebblestar Wait!" He panted as he caught up to them. "I would like to join your group!" He said, his pelt getting hotter than it already was. He had had a secret crush on the leader for as long as he could remember. He tried being nonchalant about it but he never could successfully do that. He just hoped that she never noticed. "Please?" He purred.

Looking down at the warrior, she cocked her head, "Sure, alright, we'll also do the border patrol," Leaping gracefully down from high rock, she shook herself and started towards the exit, "Everyone on the patrol please fallow me," She called after her.

Tortoisestep limped after the group trailing slightly behind. He could just see them all in his mind teasing him. Like they had his whole life. He wondered why he was even considering liking Pebblestar. She hadn't ever treated him badly but she never went out of her way to treat him like a normal warrior. He didn't care. It was something about her that just drove him crazy. Suddenly he realized that he had stopped, surrounded in his thoughts. The group was far ahead of him and even running he couldn't catch up. "WAIT!" He yelled, hoping they could hear him. "Wait for me!" He yowled getting tired.

((Some competition for him would be very interesting! ))

Looking back at Tortoisestep, who was lagging far behind, holding her tail up, she beckoned for the group to stop. As they waited for the warrior, she told the group, "Go on ahead, I'll stay back with him."

Tortoisestep was panting hard by the time he got caught up to Pebblestar. He stood with his legs spread out, claws digging into the ground, just trying to catch his breath. When he no longer felt like he was going to pass out he looked up at Pebblestar and his heart fluttered. "Thanks for waiting for me." He told her thankfully. Finally breathing regularly he told her, "Um, do you want to hunt here or try to catch up with the group. You can go on ahead if you do. I'll just hunt here." He hoped that she took the hint at how desperately he wanted to be alone with her but he wouldn't know until she responded.

~Pebblestar~

Smiling slightly and cocking her head, she said, "Sorry, but,I have to lead the boarder patrol, and the rest of the hunting patrol, your welcome to either stay here or join the rest of the group." She smiled sadly, "Maybe some other time, okay?" She sat up and started walking slowly towards the rest of the group, wondering if he would follow her.

Tortoisestep hung his head and started following Pebblestar. "Maybe next time. Ya." He mewed as normally as he could, trying not to let the sorrow show through. He knew that Pebblestar didn't like him but he just couldn't give up on her. Maybe if he could impress her in some way where he normally didn't shine. Well, they WERE hunting! He could catch a bird! There was a sparrow! He quickly prepared himself, leapt over Pebblestar and landed on the bird, killing it awkwardly. He held it up for her approval, hoping that she was impressed.

((And poor Tortoisestep can't understand that! XD))

Her eyes widened at his ketch, "How did you.. with your leg?" She looked at him curiously, "That was a really nice ketch! Good job!" She gave a sweet smile and continued walking, wondering how Tortoisestep had managed the breath-taking ketch.
