"We're all just stories in the end."
Kassandra watched, her eyes still covered with a guarded shadow. However, as she saw the reactions given, the overcast look in her eyes disappeared and left them bright and reassured. She dipped her head a fraction as an acknowledgement to Desiderius' silent 'thank you'. The effect of her declaration on him was the most noticeable through his smile, and it was reward enough to see him perk up. Viatrix's reaction soon grabbed Kass' attention, considering there was little way to ignore the words pouring out of the filly. The brindled mare reflected the smiles of the others, unsure of how else to reply at the moment. Her mind was still reorganizing itself around this new notion of traveling to a herd with her family, not to mention all of the leftover questions still floating around after her internal squabble with herself.
What helped to bring her back into focus again was the children, bless their souls. Her smile widened then dipped and fell off her face a moment as she let a huff of air out of her nostrils. "Well, I'm glad you two are happy with the situation. And yes, Crius, I suppose it does." She replied, her gaze returning to Desi for a moment before she went on to address her son's yawn and heavy leaning on her. "A lot has happened recently, let's find somewhere to settle down for a bit. I'll tell you two a story, and then you sleep while your father and I catch up." She finished, quite satisfied at her mothering skills. She was worried she'd be a little rusty at it, but so far it was as if she'd picked up right where she had left off.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

- He was going to object to settling down until he heard the word story. "Right here's good enough. See? It's shady and soft". He said quickly as he plopped down and looked up at his mother. "Story time." He said as he looked over to his sister for a moment. He gave her a smile before he got comfortable and waited on his mother to start a story.

The stallion looked back up at her, his golden eyes meeting her own gaze out of common courtesy. He smiled back, though in truth the stallion hadn't a clue on what to say next. He was a loner, after all. He'd only met with other stallion before on a 'regular' basis. And even then they would turn to sparring with their horns, rather than use words. When presented with a mare like this, however, he felt stupid. He wouldn't want to fight a mare, for his own reasons. He just didn't know what to say. He merely stood there, trying to think. 'Well, we could, er, talk about, um," he fumbled, not really thinking before he spoke. "I don't know. Any ideas"?

- The mare had a feeling he'd come up blank with no ideas. She watched him for a moment as she wondered on what could keep them together but also allow them to talk me probably get to know the other better. "Well. We could always walk around the Bayou and talk about the funniest thing that has happened to us over our life here." she suggested as she moved her head some to get her forelock out of her eyes.
