Nightstorm followed the scent trail of the vole, soon spotting it sleeping on a small rock. Easy catch... She thought, getting into a hunting crouch.

Sparksteps heart began to race. "I wouldn't want it any other way." She said nuzzling into his neck. Her long fluffy calico tail flicking softly in happiness. Tears still barley dripped from her cheeks.

"Your doing a great job." Rainstorm purred back. "I can't wait for the kits to be apprenticed. I know it's a long time away but I miss being a warrior. I want to hunt and fight and fall in love and all of that stuff. I only fell in love once before, but he's... he's with another cat." Rainstorm meowed, her ears flopping to the side of her head.

Maplestorm waited for her to catch the vole. All he could think was, I like you I like you I like you I like you I like you I like you I like you. "I like you." He blurted out loud. He immediately blushed and meowed, "That wasn't supposed to come out. Ever. Sorry." He ran back to camp humiliated.

The vole ran away when it heard Maplestorm. Nightstorm flicked her ear, looking at the tom who was running away. He likes me?... She thought, confused. She walked back to where they buried their prey, digging up the three birds. He is quite nice to me...and I feel all happy when I see him... She thought, thinking of Maplestorm. She walked back to camp with the birds, hoping she could talk to Maplestorm.

He smiled and nuzzled her, purring. He layed down.

Maplestorm walked through the camp, head down into the warriors den. He curled up in his nest.

Nightstorm dropped the birds on the fresh kill pile and padded into the warriors den. "Maplestorm?" She mewed "Would you like to share one of the birds with me? Maybe talk a bit?" She sat down, looking at the ginger and white tom with large amber eyes.

Maplestorm sighed. "I'm not hungry. But I guess." He meowed. His big amber eyes were filled with sadness and humiliation. He sat up.
