Windkit nodded. She looked around for Stormkit. "Stormkit!" she called. "Want to share a mouse with me?" Stormkit's face popped out of the rouge group, and he nodded eagerly. He went ahead of Windkit and grabbed a shrew before settling down next to her.

Windkit tried to eat, but she was really excited. After a couple chastising looks from Stormkit, she made herself eat her share, then sat back and cleaned her whiskers anxiously. 'Where is Rosestar?' she thought. Windkit knew she was going to burst from excitement.

)) Rosestar went over to grab a scrawny mouse from the fresh-kill pile. "I have to give the best pieces of prey to my clan so that they can survive the upcomong leaf-bare." She thought. Prey was alredy getting scarce.
