With a shudder of disgust, Leopardfoot approached Hawktalon and Jaystorm, a look of reproach present on her face as she eyed the former kittypet. "Fogstar is sending me on patrol with you and Jaystorm," she spat in Hawktalon's direction, yet her gaze softened slightly as she dipped her head towards Jaystorm. "He suggested we head towards Pebble Stream," the spotted warrior added as she shifted over to avoid standing beside Hawktalon.

"Perhaps we can later {or tomorrow}. I could ask my mentor, I'm sure he wouldn't mind!" Only seconds after her wording did it dawn on her the mistake she had made. Though Flakepaw was a medicine cat, he'd beat her easily. Without claws, Speckledpaw could hardly fend off an ant.

"Please tell us your business here." She said firmly, her fiery eyes gazing intently on the she-cat. She seemed friendly enough, a little skittish but that was understandable considering Venomstare leapt through the bushes at her. "I'm afraid I have to agree with Venomstare, this is our territory." She held up her tail as a signal for cats hold off on the attack

"That's the spirit old one," Hawktalon mewed enthusiastically, jumping to his paws. "Why don't we-" Hawktalon cut off as Leopardfoot padded over, disgust on her maw. Rolling his teal eyes, the golden tom couldn't resist it. I'll show you! "If it isn't Leopardfoot! Nice of you to join us. How are you this fine morn?" Hawktalon asked, going around Jaystorm and padding over to her- obviously not taking a hint, even when she sat away from him- and playfully patting her back with his bushy tail. Then, without awaiting a response, the young tom mewed, "Sounds like a good plan. Let's head out!"

Jaystorm nodded, oblivious to Leopardfoot's change of tone. "Sounds good to me," he mewed. "Hawktalon and I were just talking about going hunting." He stood up and stretched. He looked around camp and noticed a loner eating a mouse next to Quietrain. "Who's he?" the grey-brown tom wondered out loud.

Quietrain momentarily closed eyes, holding in a sad sigh. "No, no, Nervis. It's fine." She meowed quietly, eyes on the ground. "You wouldn't know, but I'm a medicine cat. And medicine cat's can't fall in love. Or take a mate. Or have kits. Ever." She broke off, shaken.

"If it makes you feel any better, if you could, I'm sure toms would be dying for you to like them." He sighed again thinking to himself. I wish at least my mom had that excuse...
