So she did know. Peachtail shifted her weight uncomfortably. "But...you..." She sighed. Frustration was beginning to build up inside of her. Surely Meadowbreeze had known how long, arduous, and potentially dangerous their quest to find Leopardtail would be, yet she'd gone and mated with a tom in the middle of it all. "What exactly do you plan to do with the kits when they're born?"

"I'm back!" Mosspaw announced. She held a bunch of poppies in her mouth and set them down at Speckleddawn's paws.

Peachtail nuzzled her friend in a kindhearted manner. "I know," she murmured. "What I mean is...you can't really travel with kits, can you?"

Jackdawstar, who had heard the conversation, butted in with,"She won't be travelling. If you want her to travel with you, you will have to wait."

Peachtail flattened one ear. "Then why did you come with us if you were just going to have kits?"

"Excuse me?" He hissed, flattening his ears and lashing his tail."Maybe she was still expecting before we left?"

Peachtail ignored his hostility. "But if there was even the slightest chance that she might have been expecting before we left..."

"She wouldn't have known it!" Finished Jackdawstar."I was going to say, why don't we wait until the kits become apprentices? My warriors can scout the area for a scent of Leopardtail! But oh no, you just but in! To think I thought you'd be happy!"

"And I am happy!" Peachtail retorted. "Happy for my best friend starting a family, at least. What I'm not happy about is the fact that she jumped into a gorge and nearly fell to her death while expecting! I was worried enough for the both of you alone, but with unborn kits involved too?" She shook her head. Her voice dropped to a soft murmur. "Don't you see? I just want you all to be safe. Look, I'm sorry for snapping, and for acting cross and offending you. I wasn't trying to. And I meant what I said, a-about being happy for you guys. I'm...still a little traumatized, that's all."
