(Aww, thanks Rose. ^-^ Do you think depression contributes to your muse? x.x I've noticed that, too, about everyone's writing. But you beat me to it... 'Cause I'm lame... Thumbs up to everyone! Oh, I forgot...
@Willow: Yay for half days!!! Too bad they usually come with exams. xP My brain would be fried, too. So excited for Mudpaw's new crush! I wonder how Brightpaw will react...
@hdmwolf: Sure, you can rejoin. ^-^ I'll need forms, though. I know they're a pain but I have to know what to put on the front page.
Excuse my excessive lameness, everyone! >.< Life has been taking over...well...my life. As a result of my extreme lameness, Melodykit and Brightpaw's posts are supposed to fit before the argument between Ravenkit and Mudpaw.)
Meeting
(stupid name to be changed at a later date ;D)
~Melodykit~
New smells filled my nose, making me want to sneeze as the small pink scent receptor on the end of my face became overwhelmed. There were cats all around me, all ringed with different scents. I rubbed my nose with a paw, hoping it would alleviate some of the irritation. It didn't. Oh, well. "And good morning to you, Ravenkit and Melodykit." Upon hearing my name, my head snapped up, curious to see where the utterance had come from. Above me stood a long-furred brown tabby cat that was currently smiling down at me and Ravenkit. I wanted to say the smile was false, but I couldn't quite tell. There was definitely something hiding behind the tabby's expression. After a moment of such thought, I tried my best to smile at the she-cat that was looking down at me expectantly. It didn't feel much like I had thought a smile should feel, but it was enough to turn the watcher's gaze to Ravenkit.
~Brightpaw~
While Heathersong was addressing the kits, I thought it best to take a look around at the cats who were already present in the clearing so I could get an idea of the company Melodykit and Ravenkit would be in. Two angsty IceClan cats sat off to the side under the branches of a pine tree; though IceClan was infamous for its foul moods, a medicine cat and an insecure warrior would not challenge my young clanmates. The WaterClan deputy - Was it Silvertail? - sat in a patch of tall grass a little ways away, closing her eyes in relief. She was probably freaking out about the whole situation. The two AirClan chosen cats also stood a ways away, but it appeared that they were working up the courage to come over. Standing in front of me were the two RockClan cats, Whiterunner and Islandsong. I had learned their names as a kit from my dear mother; I couldn't remember what story the two warriors had been in, but it was no doubt a heroic one. Then over to my right I noticed two apprentices: Whisperpaw and Mudpaw. Whisperpaw was a serious but gentle WaterClan apprentice, and I had only talked to her on one previous occasion. Mudpaw was a FireClan apprentice and... Was he staring? The dark tom had averted his gaze by now, but had he been staring? At her?
(Ravenkit says it smells funny, Mudpaw yells at him, Whisperpaw scolds them both, and Silvertail realizes how ridiculous she's acting.)
~Heathersong~
The sudden outburst between the younger chosen cats stunned me for a moment, but I recovered in time to speak to them before the moment was entirely over. "Mudpaw, Ravenkit," I meowed, glancing between the two perpetrators. "We can't have any fighting." I turned to the FireClan apprentice, seeing as he was the cat to react so wildly. "If we are to work together, we can't bicker over trivial things. Ravenkit, you must learn to think before you speak. Mudpaw, he is younger than you, so you should not expect him to know as much as you. Whisperpaw, I know you were trying to help, but your comment was also unneccesary."
~Dirtpath~
I started when Emberclaw padded into the den behind me, but quickly stepped out of his way so he could see Lightwhisper. The words he spoke were so gentle and caring that I felt myself blush. Maybe the two warriors would be mates someday. I quickly scolded myself for prying into others' lives. It's none of your business, Dirtpath! I snapped silently. Remembering that Lightwhisper and I still had somewhere to go, I cleared my throat anxiously to see if the noise would draw their attention.
