Whitewater smiled at Jayfrost as he approached, he dipped his head respectfully and turn tail and started walking out of the camp. "We will start patrolling the river border, there haven't been any reports of anything suspicious but sometimes bears visit the river to fish and it's always good to keep an eye out for that sort of thing," he said, more for the two apprentice's benefit rather than Jayfrost. Jayfrost knew all this; after all they had trained as apprentices together for a few moons.

Mallowwing padded out of the camp, his stomach grumbled slightly, he hadn't had the chance to eat yet but he had to catch some prey for the rest of the clan before he could help himself. His paws made crunching sounds as he stepped on dead leaves and stray twigs. He soon found himself in a meadow near the edges of the clan's territory. He walked out into the open field and closed his eyes as he let the breeze flow through his long white and brown fur.

Applepaw was instantly alarmed as soon as Littlepaw told her that it was alright to bend the rules a little bit. Did it mean more than she thought it did, perhaps? No, Applepaw, you're just fooling yourself... she was grateful when Littlepaw interrupted her thoughts, speaking about the burdock roots. "Well, that is nice to know, I suppose." it wasn't as if she was ever going to necessarily use this type of information, but she definitely appreciated his effort in teaching her at least the basics of certain herbs. She was rather taken by surprise at his next question, uncertain how she should even answer a question so meaningful like his. "To tell you the truth, I have. I always wonder what lays beyond the border, and someday I hope to know." it would be a dream come true to venture beyond the territory, only to return later on of course. "Then again, I couldn't imagine a life spent with no boundaries..."

Jayfrost wasn't surprised that Whitewater was the one leading the patrol, for he was quite the well-respected warrior, at least in his eyes. At the mention of patrolling the river border, he cast a quick glance over his shoulder at the two apprentices, specifically his own. "Snowpaw... what he says is true. There are bears, but no need to worry, they aren't that common." the warrior assured her. He knew very well what it was like to be an apprentice, always startled out of your own fur at the slightest mention of a bear. Even to this day were those creatures quite terrifying, as they took several cats to fight off and some wouldn't make it, so he wanted to at least make sure Snowpaw understood that there wasn't a need to be afraid. He looked over at Silverpaw as well to see his individual reaction, however, Jayfrost wasn't able to make of one. It seemed he was in his own little world, to Jayfrost, at least. That only brought him back to remember his days as an apprentice.

Whitewater nodded in agreement at Jayfrost's words. "That is very true. The goal is not to scare you but to make you aware of the potential dangers," he said smiling, meeting the gaze of each of the apprentices in turn. Whitewater padded along the familiar border trail, his ears pricked for any sign of danger.

Silverpaw tried to hide his alarm at Whitewater's words. Bears scared the living mouse dung out of him. His fur flattened at Jayfrost's words. Well at least they weren't common. That was reassuring. "Jayfrost, Whitewater? Have either of you ever seen a bear?" he asked, cocking his head to one side, genuinely curious. He had heard tales from Icecloud and the other elders of how large they were but he still couldn't wrap his mind around their sheer size.

Breezefrost crept towards the robin till it finally had heard him, right when it rose into the air he struck out, grabbing it with his jaws as he leapt up, after landing on the ground the robin was half-dead, barely moving till he had sunk his teeth into it once more, he dropped it onto the ground next to him as he dug a small hole, placing it gently in and covering it back up, putting a leaf ontop to mark its spot

Shadowstep returned from his own little hunt, carrying three mice in his jaws. He was about to take one to the Elder's Den, when he noticed Antfang slipping inside with a mole. Instead, Shadowstep changed course, dropping his catches into the freshkill pile. His amber eyes scanned the camp, noting Spidernose relaxing in a shady area. He approached the tom, dipping his head politely."Good morning, Spidernose." He greeted the fellow warrior.

Wolfwatcher was a late riser this morning, finally getting to her paws and grooming herself once most of her clanmates were already up and doing their own thing. Once she felt her appearance was proper enough to present herself to the public, she strode with confidence outside of the den, silently hoping nobody would call her out for sleeping in. She glanced around the camp, noting that a patrol had already been sent, meaning she could relax. With a relieved sigh, she found a shaded patch and flopped down, curling her tail around herself and watched her clanmates interact.

Antfang gazed at the Elder's Den, hesitating. He didn't see anyone go in there yet. He had never been big on social interaction, but he felt somewhat at ease as an apprentice whenever he had to clean the Elder's Den. Sure, it wasn't fun rubbing mouse bile on ticks and plucking them off, but none of the elders really gave him a hard time. Taking a deep breath, he stood up and grabbed a mole from the freshkill pile, carrying it to the Elder's Den and peaking inside. He cleared his throat, "Icecloud?" He spoke in a low, hoarse voice, setting down the mole near the elder. "Do you need anything?"

Applepaw was lost in thought about what life would be like outside of their territory, to the point that she didn't even realize Littlepaw's eyes locked on her. That was until he turned his head in an instant, and she snapped out of her daydreaming to look over at him. "Littlepaw, is something the matter?" she asked in a gentle voice, a bit concerned. Was it something she said that made him turn the other way? Did he not want to talk to her or something? Don't always assume the worst... she reminded herself. Whenever it came to talking to Littlepaw, it seemed she forced herself to take the blame for everything, because she cared so much for him. I probably shouldn't, but rules are meant to be broken, right?

Jayfrost shook his head from one side to the other in reply to Silverpaw's question. "No, thank StarClan, and I hope it remains that way. I'm lucky enough to never have come across a bear." he was grateful toward that, too, but at the same time he wondered what they would look like in front of his own eyes. All he had ever known were tales of warriors fighting off bears but he had never gotten the chance to experience it himself. I suppose I don't want that chance, anyways. he wondered if Whitewater had ever seen a bear. Most likely not, since they were only a few moons apart, but there was a small chance that he had instead of Jayfrost. "Whitewater, have you ever seen a bear before?" he was just as curious as them.

reedjaw sighed and fixed himself, he felt uneasy about putting his paw on the ground and putting weight on it. though he raised his head to the molly, "it couldn't gone much better but it was good that you were there to back me up." he meowed to her and flicked his tail, he placed his paw on the ground after flexing it. he gave a soft grunt as he hobbled forwards awkwardly. "i must've pulled my paw when i leaped forward and got stuck under the root.." he said and hissed under his breath as he put more weight on it trying to set it straight. he didn't want to have to go back to camp to get it checked out and miss out on hunting more with pebblestream.

snowpaw stayed quiet as she listened to the others speak, she turned her eyes from silverpaw to jayfrost as they both spoke. the white molly blinked softly, a bear?.. her ears flicked back then forward again. i remember seeing a bear once. she thought as the memory of the horrible creature flashed in her mind. it was the size of a mountain to her. she fluffed up her soft white pelt and took a breath trying to shake the memory from her mind as she walked close beside silverpaw now.

stonepaw had buried the squrriel under the tree and marked the spot with a claw mark so he could come fetch it later on. his tail waved from side to side as he raised his head in search of more prey. he padded a little ways off and stopped as he scented a mouse not far away from him. he dropped into a hunter's crouch swiftly, he slowly stalked towards the mouse. he could see it now, nibbling on a root of a tree. it's little teeth tore at the bark, stonepaw's ears flicked as he crept close, his paws avoids the sticks and crunchy leaves under paw. as he was a fox length away from the mouse he bunched his muscles and prepared to pounce on the unsuspecting animal but before he could spring a heard a loud cry from about him. he stopped his leap and looked up in time to see a large bird dive down and snatch the mouse with a loud 'whoosh'. stonepaw sat there under the bush stunned as he watched the dangling mouse in the birds talons. mouse dung.. he finally thought.

"and i'd hardly call stealing food manners!" she hissed roughly and lashed her tail. she looked towards cinderfoot out of the corner of her eye, "we should escort her out of here before she tries anything." she meowed before turning her full attention back to scarlet. the molly's claws were dug into the dirt under her paws, how they itch to slash a throat that day but she could not attack when unprovoked.
