"You're not a rogue Smokeclaw." Bloodstar frowned looking at him once more. "You left that life behind when you took a warrior name.."

Smokeclaw grunted, "Sure." his eyes on his paws. "You really can be blind Bloodstar." he murmured quietly, "I care so much for you but... You just keep pushing me away and ignoring me and your so cold when it comes to us... why? and don't you just say it's because of the stupid rules."

"I shouldn't have to say that its the rules." Bloodstar muttered. "You should know I have to follow them even if I don't want to." She removed her paws from his. She sighed and looked away, "I can't help it..."

Smokeclaw grunted and sat up, "rules are for fools who don't know how to live any other way." he murmured quietly, sitting next to her.

"Rules are meant to keep order. " Bloodstar replied, "Without them we would be a pack of rog- we wouldn't be a clan.."

Smokeclaw sighed and shook his head. "Bloodstar. Think about it, why would Starclan not let Fighter cats have mates? Gathering cats can but we can't? It can change you know. We lost many cats in the fire anyways, we are also in a new home. It's time for change either way."

"Maybe so." Bloodstar agreed, "But you know these cats. They aren't always ready for change. They're scared of it." She rested her head on his shoulder.

Smokeclaw lay his head atop hers. "Bloodstar. Think about it. We are in a totally new territory. These cats will have to learn to fish as a new skill instead of hunting on land. I think cats would be thrilled to be able to have mates in the fighters group." He quietly murmured, "I know Tadashi... Uh.. Tadpolepaw was devastated that she couldn't bare kits." He murmured quietly. It felt odd to him to talk about this stuff.
