"Who you calling slow poke,slow poke"he said and ran to her and soon in front of her. He then splashed into the water having to swim. The water was deep to get there so swimming was the only way.

''Using your height to your advantage is unfair!'' she yelled back. She grinned and plunged in to the water after him. Birch was caught offguard; she assumed it had be shallow enough to walk through, and she was suddenly distressed when her head went under the deep water. She scrambled back to the shore. Through her dripping wet forelock, Birch looked at Chase swimming to the other shore. ''I.. I can't swim.'' she murmured softly, too softly for him to hear. Birch shyed away and looked at the ground, shivering from the breeze now cooling her wet coat.

When they got the other side Chase shook himself off and smiled"We are here"

Her gaze flicked back to the other side, she wanted to dare to attempt swimming again. Huffing, she placed her forelegs in the cool water, still shivering. That is when she noticed the flower she had previously in her mane was floating through the currents. ''No!'' she snorted when she realized she couldn't get it. Lowering her head, Birch walked back to the mucky mud area they were before, but stayed still a good distance to still be in Chase's view and him in her's. She shook her dark liver coat from excess water.

Chase looked behind him to see Birch not behind him. "Birch you ok?"he asked her.She wasnt on the other side so he was wondering why she wasnt here.

Her ears perked when she heard Chase call out. She frowned slightly then walked towards the shore again, neighing softly. ''I-II am o-ov-over here..'' she said while shivering. ''I.. I can.. cannot go o-over t-th-ere-e'' she added, flicking her heavily drenched tail. She again began to wade in to the water but couldn't muster up the bravery to jump in, knowing that it was well over her head. ''You... go. Without me..'' Birch pleaded, not wanting to slow him down in finding the herd it seemed he so much desired

Chase shook his head and swam over to her"I am not going to leave you"he said looking in her eyes. "Can you not swim?"he asked her a little suspicious.

She sighed softly. ''Thanks.. it's nice to know you won't give up on me.'' Birch was quiet for a moment then shrugged. ''Yeah.. I can't swim in very deep water. If it's slightly over my head.. then that's bearable.. But not this deep.'' she looked down at the water, not able to look at him in the eye; she felt very ashamed and useless for not being able to swim.

Birch was forced to look up at him but couldn't help but return the smile when he smiled at her. ''Really? I guess that would be alright. I don't see how it could work though.. Buuuuttt.. I'll trust you with your crazy ideas.'' she said brightly, changing her mood just like that. Birch waded in to the water until it's ripples touched her knees. She sighed and stared down at the water, which was dark with depth. She gulped and looked back at Chase with a worried expression. ''You sure about this...?''
