His gaze narrowed as he studied the tom.
"You don't seem like the family sort. No offense, of course," he added quickly, ears twitching. "This concept interests me." He looked down at the kits. "If I am such a threat to you, why haven't you scaled this tree to come and get me? I'm practically defenseless up here. And I'm already outnumbered. Though judging by those awkward movements you were doing moments ago, I'd say I wouldn't have much to worry about."

Stormpaw screeched in anger at him and leaped halfway up the tree before climbing the rest quickly. Landing on his branch she growled loudly, "take that back!" she spat, her sharp claws keeping her balanced
