Scarlet yelped, "Let me go!" She started to swing her paws around, trying to get free. She bared her teeth at Grim, looking at him angrily. "Maybe I aught to join the Aztecs again!" She shouted, growling angrily as she bared her teeth at him.

"They would kill you for running in the first place. You would not be welcome. Now, stay long enough for me to tell you one last thing, and you're free to go." He held her tail still, waiting for an answer.

"They kicked me!" She replied, snarling angrily. She tried to flick her tail, growling and biting his paw. She bared her teeth at Grim, pricking her ears angrily.

Grim's flesh was tough, and could not be pierce easily. He sighed, still holding her since she was going to fight him. "They tried to make me join them. They told me that they were going to rule the entire forest, and slaughter all those in their path. They brought me a present, too. A pup. They told me that they had killed the mother, and brought it for me to... eat." he swallowed, feeling sickness rising in his throat. "I told them that I would not, that I would never join a group of pup killers. The leader laughed, and a gave him a scar before running with the pup and dropping it off with a foster mother who had lost a pup of her own. I am not exactly the monster most think I am. I am no killer of the innocent. I use my fangs only when I'm challenged, and I do show mercy. But what is the use in letting a killer live? What is the use in sparring one life, when that action will cause dozens of other lives to meet an untimely end?" He released her, and lifted his head to the sky, baring his throat to her. He stared at the stars as they appeared in the sky, and howled. No matter how harsh his voice was, when he howled he could not hide the true nature of his soul, and his song was filled with sorrow.

Scarlet blinked, "Oh..." She stood up, nuzzling him, "I´m sure you´ll forget about it!" Scarlet smiled, looking at Grim sweetly.

"I'll never forget. I don't want to. I will take them down, after I rid the forest of the humans." He looked up with a dark determination in his eyes. He nuzzled her back awkwardly, never having felt a soft touch. "We should return and get some sleep. Don't tell the others what happened, we don't need them to be afraid." He lowered his head, yawning. He would not need to drink because of the blood he had swallowed, but he didn't know about Scarlet. "There's a river along the way, if you're interested in drinking or bathing."

(Oh sorry guys! I didn't know the season was spring.)

Arber woke up surprised. He didn't know where he was. It was a little weird for him, sleeping by a bear carcass with a few other dogs. He was in a bad mood. *Hey! Where Am I?* He said to himself out loud, hoping he did not wake up the other dogs.

Storm was awake already. In fact, she hadn't gone to sleep. She looked up at the sound of a voice. "You're apparently at the base den for 'Trip's' new group." She almost laughed at Grim's fake name. Almost. She got up, grabbing a piece of meat left over from the other night, handing it to the big male. "Here, you look like you could use it." She sat down beside Arber, her thick bushy tail wrapping around her side.

*Oh........* Arber looked at her. he was very nervous around females *Uh.....um....Thanks....* he said, then looked down at the piece of meat.

Storm yawned, stretching her jaws wide and showing her long fangs. "You're welcome..." She smiled down at him. "Name's Storm."
