Ashblaze, normally being the grumpy type, seemed to have softened up a little through the illness, especially when Thymecloud was around. He listened to her as he licked his paws. He wasn't one to agree, but he did,"I know what you mean. Especially with all the cats we've already lost, we can't afford to lose anymore warriors." He meowed before running his paw over his ear.

The small ginger she-kit kept squealing until she suddenly felt a gentle nudge. Weakly lifting her head, she could feel a damp muzzle above her own. She let out a squeak, wondering if it had food to fill her hungry stomach.

Tawnyshadow whispered, licking each of they're heads. She layed her head on her paws and scooted them closer, so they were now wrapped around her stomach so they wouldn't be cold.

The ginger she-kit squeaked when she and her littermates were moved. She meowed out loudly for food before yawning widely, her tiny, sharp white teeth showing before her mouth closed. Still really hungry, the gingerkit curled up between the new warm body and her siblings. Before she knew it, the kit had fallen asleep.

Pebblefur followed Fangpaw's motion and nodded. She lifted her tail and inspected the prints.
"Well done." The bengal purred in reply, the scent of the rabbit making her mouth water. She padded along the prints until the rabbit's smell filled her mouth.
"I think it's close, do you want to try and catch it?" She asked.

a brown tabby was getting worried. ever since his sister had fallen victim to the deadly disease, he had been more on edge and more stressed. he couldn't lose the only remaining family member he had left. the male dashed across the camp, a place he was supposed to call home, and into the medicine den. he was still unfamiliar with the strong scents of plants and dirt, and it made his nose recoil every time. "stoatfur?" his small voice was quiet as usual. "sorry if you're busy," sparrowpaw flattened his ears slightly as he always got nervous around cats of higher authority. he still wasn't used to clan hierarchy. "but.. is tansy okay? i mean.. is tansypaw okay?" even though he had been using the term 'tansypaw' for the majority of his life to mention his sister, he still prefered the rogue names and often called her tansy when other clan cats weren't around.

lying in a nest, exhausted and sick, was a small siamese apprentice. about a quarter moon ago she was sent into the medicine den during the middle of a training session after showing symptoms of the rat plague. she hadn't wanted it to be true, but it was. now she was as helpless as a baby mouse. the predator was now the prey to this merciless illness. she wasn't asleep, but she wanted to be. her muscles ached and her body heaved with the simple effort of breathing, a task she used to do without even realising it. her paws hurt unbearably, and her nose was wet and sticky, as well as her eyes. it wasn't pretty. she used to be so full of life, and now it was almost all gone. the ivory-coloured apprentice hadn't eaten for a while, mainly because she was scared of throwing up and only making herself more sick. her brother's voice gave her hope, knowing there was some cat in the clan who always loved seeing her. but she couldn't raise her head and greet him happily like she used to do, all she could do was lie there.

"i just hope the cats that went looking for the cure come back soon. i don't know if it's just because almost every cat is sick but they seem to be taking their time." she sighed, looking down at her paws. the sickness had been a pretty hard blow to the clan, and no cat was taking it well. thymecloud couldn't watch her second clan fall apart, not after she'd just settled in.

Cherryflame blinked inside, looking around. She sighed. No cat seemed to being paying attention to her. She gasped as she felt something hit her heart. With a groan, she looked up. Where was she? Still at the barn, she realized with a smile. She looked around. There were more flowers and bushes than she remembered. she padded inside of the barn and looked around. "Berry?" A cat asked. She whipped around. "Berry? What are you-" She gasped as the cat leaped at her. "Where have you been?! I missed you! You just disappeared and... You left with our kits..." Cherryflame found herself squashed by a handsome tom. What is happening...? Cherryflame asked herself. She looked down, realizing she was pregnant. Cherryflame had kits... This tom's kits, she assumed. He was fully white and had green eyes. Cherryflame seemed to be a ginger and brown tabby of some sorts. Cherryflame was in the past.

She knew who the kits were.

She smiled. "That's great-" She gasped. Tawnyshadow! She rushed away, skidding to a halt beside Gingerpelt. She could tell straight away that the queen was dead. "Tawnyshadow... You must look after them..." She murmured. "I... Stoatfur." She felt tears drip from her eyes. Her mentor... He would be so hurt... "Stoatfur didn't even get to say goodbye. Now... Now all he has are the kits. He has her kits. His kits." Her legs buckled and she was resting her head on Gingerpelt. "Why couldn't I have been here?! Why didn't I help?!" Coconutpaw should have noticed she was pregnant. She should have noticed Gingerpelt was giving birth. Why hadn't Starclan told her? Why had she failed? How could she help her clan if...
If she let them die?!

Owlcall blinked on confusion, cringing slightly when he smelled the rancid scent Tawnyshadow had picked up. He hurried after his mate, the fur along his spine bristling. He followed his mate over to Gingerpelt's body, grief welling in his eyes when he saw the three kits at her belly. "W-Why did she go off on her own?" He whispered. "Why didn't she get one of us when she started kitting?" A small grey and smoky black tom batted at Tawnyshadow's nose when she brought him and his sisters close to her body so they wouldn't be cold. A small pale grey she-kit squeaked weakly for a moment but fell silent, her flank barely rising as she breathed.

"We need to find them food." Owlcall looked up when Coconutpaw and Sheep came running inside, his eyes widening when the medicine cat apprentice mentioned Stoatfur. "T-These are Stoatfur's kits?"

Ryemouse purred loudly, watching Foxfang put Minnowkit onto his back. Her gaze softened as she watched Wolfkit trying to scramble up onto Foxfang's back as well. The spotted she-cat leaned forward, nudging Wolfkit up onto the ginger and white tom's back. "There you go, Wolfkit. Hold on tight."

Stoatfur looked up from the coltsfoot poultice he was making when he heard Sparrowpaw call his name. "I'm making her a poultice to help with her breathing." He mewed, pushing the poultice towards Tansypaw. "Eat this, dear." He mewed to her, licking her ear before looking at Sparrowpaw.

"She should be fine for a few hours after I give her everything she needs." He mewed, grabbing some juniper berries and setting them next to the poultice, along with a few poppy seeds to dull the pain. "Would you mind grabbing me some dock leaves?" He mewed to Sparrowpaw as he grabbed some cobwebs to soak up some of the blood that was dripping from Tansypaw's nose.

Sheep ran after Coconutpaw, Owlcall and Tawnyshadow, her eyes wide when she saw the queen's body. "I'm so sorry." She whispered, feeling grief well in her chest. She didn't know Gingerpelt well, but she knew how much of a loss the ginger she-cat was. She had three kits, so Sheep knew that there father was out there somewhere, waiting for his mate to come home.

He licked both of there heads and sat up a little, still looking behind him at the kits on his back. He stood up fully now, and let out a deep chuckle before looking down at his Mate. "Look at em'! They're great learners!" Foxfang purred, nuzzling Ryemouse.

Tawnyshadow sniffed and looked over at her mate, pressing against him. "I-I take care of them?..." She asked quietly, looking at each of the cats before peering down at the kits. Her eyes widened when she was told Stoatfur was the Father, and an audible gasp was heard. "T-They are? They can't know that they're Father is Stoatfur... All four of them could be exiled..."

Wolfkit let out a loud giggle and licked her sisters face, before squealing as Foxfang stood up. She unsheathed her tiny claws and dug them into his back, earning a small hiss from her Father at the pain. She let out more bubbly giggles and bumped Minnowkit a little, purring at her silver spotted sister.
