Goldenpaw watched the two talk. He remembered his own story - his father, SandStar (starry nights on the sand) the leader, and his mother, the deputy, had fled when the medicine cat was infected with a strange illness and soon, the whole camp was in flames. He remembered how his mother and his brother had taken him and ran back to where Goldenpaw's mother, Nightlight came from - stoneclan. But, they realised nobody would accept them there, so they entered cloverclan with their CliffClan tribe names - she who lights the night, or nightlight, wolf who drew blood, or bloodWolf, and kit who was born blind, or Blindkit.
Goldenpaw let out a sigh. He couldn't remember much as he was only a quarter moon old when that happened. And then, his mother had died. He had no family - or so he thought.

She watched the cats, stepping forward at Goldenpaw's invitation, but moving backwards when his words upset Sorrelpaw. Her ears flattened slightly, and she shuffled her paws. "I'm sorry." She apologized to her denmates, before following Goldenpaw. Berry paw seems to be helping Sorrelpaw, so she decided to talk to Goldenpaw, and gently nudged his shoulder.

goldenpaw sighed. "i know." he said. " i know i upset her." he looked at russetpaw. "im just sick of people knowing my stories before i even tell them."

She shrugged, "Perhaps she feels the same way." She tried to see both sides to the story, not quite sure how to comfort the tom. "Everyone has their story." She walked beside him, trying to find the right words to cheer him up.

"and she can't see that hers isn't the worst!" goldenpaw said, sitting down for the gathering.

"Does it really matter? Who's past is more painful?" She asked, frowning a little. She didn't understand why the others had been almost showing off their horrible backstories. It's like they want to have the worst past, or so it seemed.
