Volantkit felt Dawnpaw finally drop her once they were in the Leader's den, the small kit stayed where she was, looking up at the orange tom in an almost awe-like state. She never said anything but she knew she couldn't now especially.

Malicepaw grinned. Plan perfected. Everything had gone as planned and he praised Dawnpaw silently to himself, slowly leading Rainsplash to the den once he was inside Malicepaw sat at the entrance, blocking it so no cats could leave. "We're going to settle this, now." Malicepaw said, noticing all six of the cats were there as well as Sunstar. "Sunstar, you take a good look at Ivyfrost and those kits, take a good look at Rainsplash and those kits."

She scooped Volarkit close to her along with Thunderkit and Dewkit. She had them all wrapped with her tail protectively. Ivyfrost crouched down feeling sick to her stomach. Dawnpaw sat beside Malicepaw watching Sunstar curiously.

"Malicepaw...these are Sageleaf's kits." he said but then realised they looked nothing liked her but looked like Rainsplash and ivyfrost. "But they don't look like her, and Volantkit looks a lot like Rainsplash"
