Willowpaw carefully placed her crow in the fresh-kill pile, next to a dead squirrel. She started to pad off again, hoping to meet scourgepaw.

Scourgepaw carried the bedding to his mentor.

Snakestrike pulled some fur from the bedding. "Put this fur where you left the rabbit's blood."

"Now, let's get to camp. You've worked hard and need a rest," the deputy said.

Willowpaw yawned. "Okay, I guess. No more hunting for me tonight! I'm too tired." She she brought some fresh-kill to the elders. She was about to take something for herself when she yawned again. "Okay, sleep first, then eat," she told herself as she padded off towards the apprentice's den.
