Kestrelclaw laughed as he ran alongside his apprentice. "You're pretty fast!" he commented. It didn't take long for them to reach the training field, and once they did, Kestrelclaw skidded to a stop, panting a bit but otherwise fine. "I think...I think you beat me," he breathed. In truth, he wasn't paying all that much attention to who had gotten there first. He had just enjoyed the thrill of the race itself. Shaking out his pelt, he said, "Okay, let's get started! First thing's first— show me your best hunter's crouch!"

Mallowshade's heart skipped a beat and her eyes widened when a familiar voice sounded in her ears. "Bra-Brambletail?" she stuttered, staring at the somewhat-transparent shape of her father with wide eyes. "What terrible news? How are you even talking to me right now? I thought StarClan cats only appeared to the leader and the medicine cat!" She had no idea what to say.

Brambletail lay his tail on his daughter's back. "I don't have much time. The Dark Forest lead a raid against us. Gingerfur is gone." He mewed, tears falling from his eyes. "I could not reach Spiritfur. Tell them." He whispered before fading back into StarClan.

Larkpaw nodded, dropping down onto her haunches. The hunting crouch. She stalked forward slowly, not making a sound. Then she leaped and landed square on the mouse, finishing it with a killing blow. Giving thanks to Starclan for the food, she held her head high and padded back to Jaywing.
