Russetleap glanced back quickly at the young apprentice and nodded, more to herself then her companion. She then turned her gaze back to the path as they continued on.

Any flash of concern quickly fluttered away, and Sablekit's eyes shone with excitement. "Yeah!" She squeaked, leaping to her paws and bounding out after Spottedkit.

Thorntail bounded up to her side and purred. "You feeling a bit angry over that dispute?" he asked gently.

{ Just a question... what should I do about Greypaw and Yuccapaw? Should I bring her back or leave her there with him? And isn't he supposed to become the next deputy..? And then, what about Cricketpaw and his brother..? }


Russetleap took a deep breath, and sighed, trying to release any anger. She just got me on a bad day, that's all... She responded mentally, then nudged him gently. "Nothing I can't get over." She mewed gently.

Sablekit made sure to try and remain hidden as she rushed carefully after Spottedkit, "Be quiet!" She hissed excitedly.

Rootclaw trotted back to camp beside his brother, smiling for the first time in moons. When he had lost Greypaw, his first apprentice, he took it hard. Although he wasn't exactly fond of the tom, he had still felt that it was his fault for taking his eye off him. His brother had desperately tried to calm him down, saying that it wasn't his fault, and that these things often happen... Rootclaw agreed reluctantly, though still refused to believe it. But as they spoke about nothing but the topics that brothers share, he smiled. It was nice to be with his brother, forgetting of past events and just laughing.

As they approached the entrance, Fireleaf spotted two kits wondering from camp, "And just where do you think you're going?" His deep mew rumbling in the back of his throat.

Sablekit starred up at him with wide eyes. We haven't even got past the dirt place yet and we got caught!! She squeaked mentally, then her eyes lit up as an idea came to mind. The dirt place! That's it!! "We're just going to the dirt place!" She scoffed triumphantly, "We're old enough, ya know?!"

Rootclaw exchanged an uneasy glance with Fireleaf before shrugging. "What ever you say!" He mewed in response, the continued into camp.

Fireleaf watched unsure, but then followed his brother into camp, and with a smile leaving his side and wondering over to Firefly. "Hey." He mewed softly, sitting next to her and beginning to groom his pelt.

Sablekit sighed with sudden relief and watched as they continued on. "That was close!!" She whispered, the leaped for the nearest bush, "Let's get out of here before they come back!"

{ I don't know. Shall we call that Cricketpaw and his brother found them and are coming back? Wist hasn't post in like... Forever. }

Spottedkit nodded, but couldn't help but laugh. She laughed as they ran from camp.

Firefly smiled at Fireleaf. "Hello."

Sablekit rolled her eyes with annoyance as Spottedkit laughed, "Easy for you!" She hissed, more worried than annoyed, "You didn't even say anything!"

Fireleaf smiled, "Rough day?" He mewed softly, pausing took look at the she-cat, before continuing to groom himself. "It's almost moonrise and I haven't seen you all day..."

Firefly nodded. "Yea. I haven't seen you all day either." She meowed.

Spottedkit nodded. "You talked first." She addmitted.

Fireleaf smiled warmly, locking a genuine gaze with Fierfly, and ran the tip of his fluffy tail gently down her flank, "You're doing really well," He mewed gently, "With a new Clan. I can't imagine how hard it must be."

Sablekit rolled her eyes, still bounding forward. "I had to say something!" She pushed, "Otherwise they would've figured out what we were doing from the silence!"

Firefly nodded, feeling comfertable with Fireleaf "Yeah.." She admitted.

Spottedkit laughed quickly, still following.

Thorntail purred and rubbed his pelt against Russetleaps. "That's my wonderful mate! So, would you like to go to the border?"

(It's been a real week; should Russet find out she is having kits when they get back? But even more drama maybe is if she finds out during the patrol!)

Larkpaw padded behind the two. She smiled.

Fireleaf smiled, a small purr appearing at the back of his throat, "You're doing really well trying to fit in," She praised, "You'd make a great addition to the Clan."

Russetleap let out a mrrow of laughter and a small smile, and rolled her eyes. "Sure." She breathed, matching his pace and almost forgetting about the young apprentice's company. She suddenly slowed her pace, and twisted her fluffy face around to meet the she-cat's gaze. "Which way?" She asked the young cat, testing.
