"Well...sometimes, us dogs get sick, and there is nothing that can cure it. Lillie will take care of you. You can trust her." He said, looking at Lillie.

Lillie’s face saddened at the puppies responses. She wished she knew how to explain it so they could understand, but this was there first time with death. She pulled the pups closer to her with her paws. She looked at Lila and licked her tears. “She may not be here with you on earth, but she will always be with you in your heart, and in your memories” She nuzzled Lila’s face. She looked at Serrie, she knew it was hard for a pup of this age to understand, but Lillie didn’t know what to say. “Don’t you guys worry, I’m here for you and I wont let anything bad happen to you guys.” Tears ran down Lillie’s face. “I’m sorry” she whispered to the pups. Lillie felt guilty about what had happened to Ri. She felt that it was her fault that she couldn’t make her better. Lillie looked over her shoulder to see Castro, he was just sitting there watching Lillie and the pups.

Darwin made his way back to camp, where his mate Larki was waiting. She had recently became pregnant with Darwin’s puppies, and the two couldn’t be happier. Darwin was even more protective then usual over her. He had to leave camp to hunt, so him and his mate could eat, and he was rushing back. He dragged large buck slowly back to camp. He could smell the scent of the other dogs, and Larki. When he came into the clearing he drug the deer up right into to the mini cave that Darwin and Larki slept in. “Dinner’s served!” he said to Larki with a smile. “I am sorry I’ve been gone so long. Has everything been okay?” He looked at his mates eyes and wagged his tail. “I brought back deer. It has plenty of meat that way I don’t have to leave for awhile, and I thought we could bury the bones. The pups can chew on them when they get older.” He laid his head next to her belly. “No need to worry pups. Your dad is home now” He said with a smile

Lila turned away from Lillie and Arber. Mummy... She thought, her heart broken and aching. Lila curled up, tucking her paws in, and wrapped her tail as far around her body as it would go. Lila sniffled and buried her head into her bushy tail, her deceased mother never leaving her mind. She heard Lillie whisper, and looked up at her, Lila's face expressionless. "I'm sorry too." Lila whispered. She didn't really know what it meant, but she wanted to make Lillie feel better.

Larki yawned, her head rising to the sky and her pelt shining in the light. She rose and stared down at her belly. It was still mildly flat. Larki couldn't wait for her pups, and their father, the love of her life, felt the same. Larki's head whipped around, unknown sounds making her feel more protective. She realized it was Darwin, carrying a large buck for dinner, and she relaxed and wagged her fluffy tail. "It's fine," Larki giggled, turning to face Darwin. "Everything's been great," She reassured him, her face bright. Larki's face dropped, just for a second, but she quickly changed her expression and began to snack on the deer. "Great idea!" Larki said, digging out the bones of the deer with her dirty paws. "Only a few weeks now," Larki sighed, watching Darwin talk to their unborn pups. She continued her digging through the elk, separating the meat and bones.

Castro looked at the poor pups. It was so upsetting to know they lost their mom. He was thirsty, so he got up and went to get a drink from the stream.

Arber got up and sat by Lillie. "It's going to be alright. These puupies have you, and your the best one fore them." He said, looking into her eyes. "This was better for her than having to sit in pain every day."

[Bill]

Lillie’s licked Lila’s head. “I promise you everything will be okay.” She said to the young pup. She thought of there mother, and how her life was taken so soon. Lillie watched as Castro walked off into the forest. Her eyes followed him the whole way. Then Arber came up her. “You really think I am the best one to raise these pups from here on?” She smiled a little. “I know. I am glad she isn’t in pain anymore. I just wish she didn’t have to leave the poor pups behind.” She looked at Arber, her brown eyes tearful. She laid her head on his side. “Thank you for being so kind to me” She said with a sigh

Darwin’s tail wagged with excitement. “The weeks are going by so slow!” He said playfully. He cam over and laid next to Larki and began eating at well, setting the bones aside for the pups. “I’ve been thinking about names” Darwin said with his mouth full of deer. He swallowed his food. “I want to name are first born” Darwin said with a smile. Everyday he got more and more excited about his pups. He knew they where going to grow up great just like there mother and father.

Arber stiffened up at first, but knew Lillie was upset so relaxed with this awkward feel. He looked at Storm, smiling for once in a very long time.

[Bluish]

Lila cuddled into Lillie, trying to stay warm and not burst into tears. "I'm hungry," she whispered to Ri, staring around at her siblings.

"Oh, so have I." Larki giggled, listening intently. "Of course you can name the first born!" Larki laughed, nuzzling Darwin's shoulder. Her whole body waggled with her tail as she ate, glancing at Darwin every now and then.

Lillie looked into Castro's eyes, and she shyly smiled. "Thats one of the nicest things anybody has ever said to me" Castro had made Lillie feel a little bit better, but that feeling was about to change. It was time for her to tell the puppies. Lillie sighed, "excuse me for a moment" she said as she walked towards the puppies. They where all staring up at her. she laid down. "I have some very bad news" she said to the puppies. "You guys know how your momma was very sick right? Well she isn't here anymore guys, she has gone to a better place. Where she is now, she isn't sick, and she is watching over you right now" Lillie looked up to the sky. "You guys don't have to worry, i promised you mommy, i would take care of you guys, and I am going to keep that promise. I just want you to remember she will always be watching over you. Wherever you are." Lillie stayed strong for the pups, and didn't cry.

Odin finished digging the grave of the aztec dog, and started back to Grim's camp. He didn't pay attention to Akuma or if she was following him. He had another things on his mind. Death, being in a group, and Akuma where on Odin's mind. He really liked her, but wasn't one to admit his feelings, and he knew Akuma was the same. He just had to wait for the right moment and find the right words to say. Or maybe this was all too soon? These questions raced around Odin's head.
