I couldn't hide my relief as Heartz took things under control, "You're welcome." I said to Livius, "Yeah, I know what you mean." I said, "My father wasn't very kind so I left, I know that most mares don't leave their herds but, I just wanted to be as far as possible from him." I said my tail lowering a little, I haven't thought about my father's herd for years... I looked back to him, hiding my loneliness. "Thats cute, hiding behind dandalions." I said and noticed his ears droop. "Sorry, I was just curious, I didn't mean to pry." I said quickly, "besides, you have this herd now. You don't have to be alone anymore." I said cheerfully, "and you have me now." As I said it I secretly regretted it. What are you doing?! I thought in fear, what if he just wants to be friends? What if we should just be friends first?

"I'm Heartz." She said and withe that turned and trotted so she wasn't far from Halo. She nosed the grass till she found a soft patch and laid down. Nibbling at the clover here and there Heartz wrapped her tail around her and relaxed.

As the yearling called Heartz left her, her gaze fell on the dark brown stallion staring at her. She cocked her head quizzical and twitched her tail. "Hello" she called and trotted over to him.

Livius was taken aback at first at her words and they echoed through his brain: "...you have me now". For how long he stared at her in surprise, violet eyes wide and jaw slightly ajar, he didn't know. When he finally realized what his facial expression must be, he blinked and flushed a deep red beneath his dark coat, so that it was visible on his cheeks even from afar.
"Well, gosh, I-I-I, uh..." Closing his eyes and fighting down the wave of heat that blasted his skin, he centered himself before he stuttered further. 'Start as friends, go from there. Start as friends, go from there,' was the mantra that echoed in his mind. He cleared his throat, opened his eyes, and gave Dolce a charming smile. "And you have me, Dolce. It's awfully nice to know that I have such a wonderful friend so early on in joining the herd." He glanced over at Halo, who had begun to browse nearby. "I feel like I might not have made the best impression with some of the other Equids..." he murmured softly. Too bad as well... He truly isn't a bad Equid. Just a competitor. I shall treat him with respect, especially since he's the second-in-command. I won't stoop to any level. I wonder what will happen with the new mare though...? His attention shifted briefly to the newcomer, who appeared to be headed towards both Halo and Canad.

canad suddenly shook his head. "oh... thanks halo." he said, quietly walking over to the gorgeous new mare.

Halo

Halo sighed, watching out of the corner of his eye as Heartz lay down nearby. The strange feeling returned to him as he took another mouthful of clover. He glanced back at Famous, raising an eyebrow. His mind was screaming at him, little red flags sailing in the wind, but he just couldn't figure it out. Seeing both the equids together was when it hit him the hardest. Like there was some sort of connection. He closed his eyes hard, keeping them closed as he nibbled a clover bud. Maybe he was just loosing his mind, maybe he would crack under the pressure of so many different worrys. That could be it, but he didn't feel like he'd lost his mind. Of course, insanity isn't exactly something you know about. "I seen how you bravely handled the new mare." he told her, a gentle smile on his face as he continued to munch the juicy clovers. He needed to distract himself.

(( Sorry I haven't been on in a while, the fundraiser is taking off and now I'm going to be doing an art class for horse camps when they happen, I think i'm feeling overwhelmed too!))

For a moment I was worried I had said the wrong thing and my heart sank, the first stallion I have ever shown feelings for and I mess up and lose him! I thought, but then he stammered and composed himself to speek. I wasn't sure how I felt, I was relieved that he had said to be friends but at the same time I was sad that he wanted to be just friends. That doesn't matter, I told myself, doesn't matter, you now have a nice friend and thats all that matters. "That doesn't matter, you've made a wonderful impression on me." I said trying to make it sound friendly. I noticed him glance at Halo and then it hit me, that what Halo was mad at earlier, I thought he wanted to, comfort me but Livius... I stopped myself, I was feeling overwhelmed with all that was happening.

Heartz looks over at Halo "I am a yearling now anyways, I can handle things on my own." she said proudly hopping he hadn't seen her scared at first. "Thanks though." She wasn't sure why she said thank you but she didn't want to sound mean.

Famous looked up at the dark brown stallion. "Hello there." She said and smiled.

"hello, may i ask what your name is?" asked canad, timidly, looking into the equid mare's eyes.

Livius smiled and it was true. It even twinkled in his violet eyes and made him prance in place.
"Well...between you, me and the clover patch," he murmured, leaning in a conspiratorially-joking manner so his face was next to hers, "that's all I really cared about." Pulling his head back again, he laughed aloud. He was trying to make her feel less uncomfortable; he could read it in Dolce's body posture. "I know I was a loner and some don't approve of it. I'll make my way into the good graces of the other Equids. It might just take time," he said with a shrug, tossing his thick mane. I wonder if this new mare will cause a rift with the other male Equids?

I tensed a little as he leaned in but I relaxed as he joked and I laughed. "Yeah, you just have to build up their trust." I said and lowered my tail and felt my body loosen up. It's nice not have to worry all the time about anything and just relax with a friend, I thought and sighed happily, lowering my head, and enjoyed the sun on my back.
