Redfur - loner - forest - Tags: Fernsnap
Redfur nodded as she spoke, really only half listening to what she was saying though it was probably of some importance. He’d only stalked the other cat in hopes he could steal prey of them, learning more of the cats he’d planned to take form made it, worse somehow. Not that it was something he felt he should be particularly ashamed about, all these clan cats he’d seen looked well off enough and he’d certainly need it more than they would, not that they’d see it that way of course. Still, Shoreclan, he made a mental note to try and remember it as the group Fernsnap belonged to, not that he planned on coming back this way any time soon, but the she cat was defiantly worth remembering. An look of amusement flickered across his muzzle, even if he tried to forget this encounter his leg would constantly be reminding him for the next moon or so. Redfur felt the fur on the back of his neck bristle at the sudden change in Fernsnap and he hissed in surprise as she charged forwards. The loner dropped to a crouch, claws extended and ears flattened against his head as he looked around wildly. His mind raced, thinking for a moment that he’d been lead into a trap or maybe an ambush. Odd though, he couldn’t scent any cats nearby, all the markers around them were a couple hours old at the least. Some of the tension left Redfur as Fernsnap walked into view carrying a mouse and he took a step back as she placed the mouse in front of him. He looked between the offered prey and the warrior, his expression a mix of surprise and suspicion. After a moment he reached down, sniffing the mouse before the waves of hunger broke through his restraint and he began tearing into it. The mouse was gone in a few second and he stared at were it had been sadly. It had been a while since he’d had fresh prey like this. Redfur stood up, his tail swishing sheepishly. At the sight of prey instinct had more or less taken over, but at least now he could think a bit easier that the sharp pangs of hunger had subsided to a dull ache. “... thanks.” He said, most of the easy confidence gone from his voice, “I- ... I really appreciate that.” The loner looked down, at a bit of a loss. He knew how to react to casual conversation, contempt, hostility, and indifference, but acts of charity were so few and far between he didn’t really know how to react. The wind seemed to change direction a bit and Redfur perked up, noting the scents were vaguely similar to ones he remembered when he’d first wanted the forest, the border must be nearby. He looked back up at Fernsnap. “Well, um.” He coughed awkwardly before standing up straighter, or as straight as he could with an injured forearm, “Looks like we’re nearing the border huh? I should probably be getting out of your fur.” He took a couple steps towards the border before turning back to look at her. “... You know, as far as first impressions go, this wasn’t all bad. You seem alright Fernsnap, at least for a clan cat.”
(Sorry if this is confusing, I’m very tried)
