Worldender - Male - Tunneler - No Crush - Open

Worldender tilted his head when he heard his leader calling for a pack meeting, and he stretched out luxuriously from where he was laying. Even fully extended, his front paws didn't even reach past his nose. The golden dog sat down near the edge of the group and pricked his floppy ears, listening to him speak. It was an important announcement, one that he and everyone else had been waiting for, for moons. It was reassuring to have a bit more order restored to their pack, and he turned to look at Gorsefoot. His brown eyes shone with pride and happiness for the new deputy.

Songbreeze smiled despite herself, though she had been somewhat guessing that it would, after all, be Gorsefoot. He was the oldest warrior, which was saying something, for the newly elected deputy was actually quite young. It seemed to show how many young, inexperienced warriors Windpack had. Don't think about that right now, she scolded herself. "Gorsefoot!" she woofed along with her packmates, congratulating her fellow warrior.

Gorsefoot was hardly surprised that he had been chosen as beta. Many of the factors needed to secure the position favored him. Regardless, he was relatively happy that he had been chosen, getting to his paws with an aura of confidence and wagging his tail. He hardly remembered what Copperskip had done when he had been chosen, it seemed so long ago in his mind. For a moment, his confident demeanor seem to be brought down before he perked back up again. No, I'm sure Copperskip would want this. I'll do this for him. The congratulations filled him with a warmth that he had only held his warrior and apprentice ceremonies. Gorsefoot dipped his head slightly to Stagstar. The next gathering will certainly be eventful.

At the announcement of Gorsefoot becoming beta, he wagged his tail. When the cheers rang out, Deerpaw joined in and enthusiastically chimed in as well, shouting, "Gorsefoot, Gorsefoot!" He hadn't talked much to the older dog, but he had a lot of love for him the same way he did for all of his packmates and he knew that he'd be a good beta now that he was fully appointed. Deerpaw turned to Spottedpaw and whispered curiously, "What do you think of Gorsefoot becoming the beta?"

Medicine Dog
With WindPack

Dunlinfur added his voice to the rest, barking the new beta's name. It was a solid choice for several reasons, one of them being how few dogs were actually eligible for the position. That was worrisome. While Dunlinfur usually did not worry about it, he felt an impending sense of danger that changed his perspective on that sort of concern. Yet, this was a happy moment, and he steadied himself by celebrating a little more enthusiastically. For Gorsefoot's sake, sad faces simply would not do.
All that remained was to wait and see if Stagstar had anything else to say. Dunlinfur anticipated he would shortly get his turn with the leader and he had enough patience to wait for that moment, challenging as it was.

Patchpaw
male dog - dalmatian/Saluki mix - crush: open - mentor: Cloudtuft - tags: open

He just stayed still and watched the meeting, he was happy to the pack to have a deputy now, but he kind of liked the former deputy Copperskip. Though he didn't know this male dog very well either so only time will tell, what kind of deputy Gorsefoot will be, will he like him or will he hate him.

Spottedpaw
female dog - dalmatian/ Saluki mix - crush: open - mentor: Berrybounce - tags: Deerpaw

She quickly finished the rabbit, not really giving any attention to the meeting, but she did listen what the alpha was saying "I don't know, I really don't know Gorsefoot, but if Stagstar made him beta, I guess he must be good to that job then" she said digging the bones to the ground.

Stagstar jumped down from High-Rock to be among his pack once more, signaling the end of the gathering. He felt elated, finally, finally the leader had made a decision he was completely confident in. It was satisfying in a sort of way, finally having made the announcement. He'll lead well.

"I don't know Gorsefoot very well either, but I agree," he murmured and did the same with his bones. Deerpaw covered the bones with dirt and patted it with his paw, flattening the ground.

Gorsefoot let out a sigh of relief as the meeting was adjourned, he assumed he would have to assign patrols as soon as it was over. Blocking out the dogs talking about the meeting, he got set on assigning who would do what. Besides himself, it was only Songbreeze and Worldender who didn't have an apprentice. He already knew that Songbreeze would be speaking with Stagstar about SkyPack, and he was unsure if the other dogs would be taking out their apprentices. It was likely, but as it is there was too much to do between him and Worldender to hunt and patrol the border, even if it was really only ShadowPack's border that needed to be watched over. It was a bit disheartening that WindPack had so few dogs, but they could only hope that some new dogs would come along soon. Thinking away from that, his thoughts returned to patrols. I haven't seen Berrybounce or Cloudtuft around just yet, Buckpaw too. Ravenflight and the other two apprentices should do then.

Speaking of those two... The male observed Spottedpaw and Patchpaw a moment each before directing his full attention to the latter. Patchpaw doesn't seem busy right now, hopefully he won't run off, he's always seemed much more shy than his sister. He turned to the thin spotted apprentice, padding over to him. Gorsefoot held a serene manner about him, though it could easily be broken depending on what Patchpaw had to say.

"Patchpaw, I hear you and Spottedpaw decided to take a little adventure to SkyPack."

Gorsefoot's features quickly changed to that of a more serious look, though his body remained for the most part unchanged, looking relaxed even. The new beta had contemplated scolding him first, but once more he was confronted with the fact that the apprentice's temperament wouldn't help in that situation. Hopefully they already understood that it was wrong, Cloudtuft and Songbreeze should have already given them a talking to.

"Are you alright? Songbreeze informed me of what you and your sister told her, and I wanted to make sure nothing else had happened. Both to you and in SkyPack's territory."

Medicine Dog
With Stagstar

Dunlinfur was so relieved and eager to get a moment with Stagstar that he nearly forgot his own apprentice, but forget, he did not. Deerpaw was sitting near Spottedpaw, talking about something or another. There was no need to interrupt them, it seemed. Deerpaw would probably be busy for another few minutes, and by then, Dunlinfur would be ready to get going as well. So, Dunlinfur approached high-rock, near which Stagstar was standing. His posture was open and casual, seeing as he was never much for formalities, but he kept his tail held respectfully at a level lower than his back.
    "Mornin', Stagstar. Good call, that."
He nodded towards high-rock, indicating his approval of Stagstar's newly-appointed beta. Then, the medicine dog lowered his head a few inches, leaning in a little closer so that he could talk more softly and still be heard.
"I, ah, I've got somthin' I'd like t'talk to ya 'bout. Y'know. When, ya have a minute. Privately, if ya don' mind."
A thickened accent and slightly forced-looking smile were all the clues Dunlinfur gave that the matter might be urgent.
