He opened his mouth to talk and blinked in surprise when Stormstar announced Gingersplash as Mintpaw's new mentor. Heatherstripe's death had been a shock to all of them, but fights with rogues could hardly be avoided. Of course, the rogue had gotten what they'd asked for ad likely will never come around their territory again. Sandstream's eyes glowed with some sort of pride at Gingersplash.
(Okay, can it be kind of like Sandstream views Gingersplash as kind of a daughter? :3)

He watched the ceremony as he sat next to Kitecry and Honeykit. They were all sitting next to the nursery. His tail was entwined with Kitecry's.

She pounced on the small stick next to Kitecry's paws. She looked up as Stormstar accepted Lilykit into the clan. Her eyes shone with excitement as she wondered if Lilykit would be her new denmate.
