Brighteyes purred, "You have done well today Lionpaw," She praised, his pride reflecting in her eyes. As if reading his thoughts, she went on, "You shall become a great warrior one day, one that the whole Clan shall be proud of." Brighteyes knew that she wasn't his first mentor. His previous mentor had left Blaze Clan, and also Lionpaw in a bad state. It wasn't until the day she had found him fighting with Greypaw had she been appointed his mentor. She knew from the start that there as more to him than fighting, she just needed to find a way to get across to him. He had made great progress since then, and Brighteyes was as proud of him, as what she would be of her own kin.

Lionpaw dipped his head resptfully. "Thank you, Brighteyes." He meowed, twiching his tail happily.

Brighteyes' gaze softened, and she nodded. "Do not thank me, thank your Clan. In time." She slowly got the her paws, and began to weave her way back to the camp, "We shall head home now," She told him as she set off, "It is beginning to get dark."

Lionpaw nodded. He stood uo, trotting after his mentor.

Brighteyes lead him slowly to the camp, taking in each tree as they went by.

Lionpaw followed, his paw thumping on the ground. It was starting to rain.

River flicked her ear, "Why so?" She asked. She looked about, Greykit was fast asleep under her tail. She looked to find Tigerkit, then looked for Goldenkit and Firekit. "Speaking of siblings, have you seen Goldenkit, Firekit perhaps?" She asked, quite concerned. By the Name of Star clan, let them be safe. she thought worried.

Whitekit nodded.

"Where?" she asked.

Russetleap purred, closing her eyes and curling tighter around her daughter.

Brighteyes smiled and nodded solemnly, taking her apprentice's praise. "With each slice of your claw, you're getting more and more controlled," Brighteyes explained, "By the time you've mastered this, you'll be able to rake you enemy's muzzle with a flick of your paw, and to kill your prey quickly and cleanly."

Thorntail smiled and licked his mate's head and then his kit's. "You are brave, but you need to be careful! Wouldn't want the leader to save you," he teased.
