Dakota

Dakota listened closely. They were going to get berries. She had hoped to take Scruffy hunting, to teach the cute lil' runt some technique, but clearly he had other things to do.
Huh. I guess I have other things to do, as well. This tiny rabbit won't last me a single day, Dakota thought, shrugging. She dug a hole in the soil behind a tree, about a foot and a half deep, and placed the rabbit carcass inside. She kicked a soft layer of dirt over it- she didn't want to layer it. Dirt tasted
nasty with meat- no, forget the
meat part- dirt just tasted nasty in general. Dakota had learned a lot from hunting. Don't leave your catch exposed, another hungry animal might take it. Animals also have amazing senses, and could probably smell the meat from a long distance and track it down within minutes. That's why Dakota liked to disguise the scent with another, less appetizing scent. She stared at a patch of flowers.
Get over here, she thought, pulling the flowers in her direction using her mind. The flowers' roots were clinging to the soil for dear life, as Dakota plucked them from the earth. Using her claws, she shredded them to get the maximum scent they could produce, and sprinkled them over the dirt that hid the rabbit. She then continued her hunt.
