Murderers in Riverclan V.2 [Roster Update 10/30]

Fear. That's the only emotion that lingered in the camp,
waiting to strike like a snake lurking in the grass. The
original malice behind each accusations was gone,
replaced by a tiredness, as though the fight in each and
every one of them had vanished.

They couldn't seem to agree on who to exile, as names
were being suggested randomly. They'd lost their last
witness after all, so it wasn't surprising that they were
clueless on who to vote for.

Riverclan suggested almost every cats' name, until
eventually settling on Fallowstep. The tom sat silently,
as though the fact that he was being exiled hadn't yet
registered. It wasn't until a half-hearted hiss from one
of the gathered cats met his ears did Fallowstep
eventually look up, "I'll go, but I'm not the murderer.
Just...remember what the prophecy told us: trust
no one" Perhaps at the beginning, Fallowstep would
have argued to stay, though every second inside
Riverclan territory felt unsafe. He feared for his
life, and was still mourning over the loss of his clanmates.
Getting up, Fallowstep briefly nodded to Frostystar
before leaving, never to be seen in the forest again.

Fallowstep managed to leave the clan territories without
running into the rogues. Lucky, unlike some of his other
clanmates. After a few days, he came across a large farm
with several stray cats living in the barn. They accepted
him and allowed him to stay, undisturbed by the farmer
as they helped to keep the mice population down. A few
moon later, Fallowstep became mates with a pretty she-cat
who had silky grey fur and blue eyes. He never told her, but
each time he looked into her eyes, he saw a beautiful
river, and his first thought was of the horrors in Riverclan that
he had left behind.

Tick tock, Riverclan, another innocent cat exiled!

Frostystar had felt numb as she had seen Fallowstep
leave, his final warning seeming to hang in the air
hours after he had left. Now the day was drawing to
a close, and the leader of the crumbling Riverclan
was heading to her den. Fallowstep's last words still
hummed inside her head, repeating over and over,
refusing to go away or be forgotten. Even if the
murderer was caught, would Riverclan ever be the
same again? She didn't think so, but had to remain
strong for her remaining clanmates.

A veil of darkness descended on the camp; even
Silverpelt could hardly be seen through the thick
layer of dark grey clouds. Frostystar was fast asleep,
removed from the horrors of the murders but
still fighting against the nightmares in her head
whenever she slept. This hadn't been what the murderer
had wanted, but no matter, they would improvise.

They'd barely set foot in the den when they saw a pair
of eyes staring at them from behind Frostystar's
shadowy, sleeping form. The murderer saw the cat's
eyes narrow, though whether they were trying to work
out who the murderer was, or warning them to back
off, was unclear. Not about to find out, the murderer
turned and fled before the other cat had a chance to
speak.

The guard only stayed for a few more heartbeats,
watching over their leader before returning to their
den. They'd done the same every night, making sure
that Frostystar was okay, and hoping that they could
catch a glimpse of the murderer themselves. Tonight,
the murderer had fled too quickly, though the guard
felt a feeling of pride in their heart knowing that they
had stopped the murder of Frostystar.

A lucky escape, Riverclan, but will this luck stay with you?

Frostystar woke the next morning a warm sun shining through the entrance of her den. The sun made her smile shortly as she padded out of her den. The air did not share the suns warmness and swept a cold breeze over the clan. For days she slept roughly, she had known that a cat had been there each night but she couldn't tell who they were. Even worse the killer was after her. The thought made her blood run cold, she needed to speak to Foxtail. Someone she could trust she thought and walked towards the warriors den. Inside was cold empty 2 warriors. She had been contemplating making Honeypaw a warrior. Though Fallowstep was now gone, the mentor to Honeypaw. She was to unfit to train an apprentice. She decided it was best to train Honeypaw after the murderer was gone. If anyone else was to die in her clan it would be her, with honor and dignity. She sat looking at Foxtail and Littleflame there eyelids flickering. Gathering her courage and hiding any worry from the outside world as it slept around her, she spoke, her voice like a wispier "Warriors, be careful these next few days but I promise we will rid this clan of a murder, If I die make sure you don't let anyone else fall." she gave a sigh as the warriors staid asleep.

(once again I wrote quite a lot so once again if I sound like a three year old tell me xD)

Honeypaw cried silently, alone in her den, Crowpaw had died recently and now Fallowstep was gone. She put her head in her paws for a minute then looked up a tear still rolling down and stood up, when she stopped crying she stepped out of the den looking around camp, 7 cats left of no one died, she thought and looked around but saw no body, Oh thank Starclan she thought

Awake again.
The grey and white tom had stayed up all night, completely unable to sleep. He tried lavender, poppy seeds, chamomile, practically anything, but they had little to no effect. He had been sitting there, listening in fear for any sounds that might give away the murderer coming for him, but nothing. He held a few sprigs of lavender lightly in his jaws, alerted to the sounds of Honeypaw's sobs.
The tom stood up silently, shaking his pelt and trying not to stumble, and began heading over to the apprentice's den. He padded over to Honeypaw and gave her a soft nuzzle, before dropping a few sprigs of the lilac blossoming plant at her paws. "Are you okay, Honeypaw?" he asked softly.

She suddenly started crying again, "I'm falling apart..", she whispered in a shaky voice and looked up at Littlemoon, can I trust him she thought, I don't know who to trust, she then wept harder

'Poor thing, lost both her mentor and her best friend...'
He looked down at the young she-cat, before laying down next to her and holding her close with his tail. It seemed that out of everyone here, she was by far the most distressed. He gently stroked her spine with his tail in an attempt to calm her, after spreading the lavender petals around her nest. 'It'll help her sleep, and hopefully calm her.' he told himself, unable to shake the feelings and prophecy that clouded his thoughts. Within the silence that had fallen over the den, he took a deep breath in. "Just letting you know, you can come sleep in my den if you're feeling lonely.." he mewed softly, not trying to be creepy, but to be comforting.
Starclan had said nothing to him since the prophecy, and it was making him extremely nervous. Though, he swallowed the feelings and decided to keep them as hidden as possible, in fear that if everyone saw their Medicine Cat crumbling, they'd lose it.

Littleflame pads out of the warriors den... Well, it was only her den now, she thought. She was the only warrior left in camp. She was still having nightmares, unable to believe that most of their clan was gone. All because of one murderer. She goes over to the medicine cat, all her fears echoing in the back of her mind. "Littlemoon?" she drags out the end, her body stiff and shaking. She always tried to act brave, but in a situation like this, how could anyone? "I... I've been having trouble sleeping. Its really... Creepy in there now with Fallowstep gone.. And I've been having nightmares. What do you recommend?" she hoped he would have a solution, as she licks her chest fur a few times. He must think Im a fool. A warrior talking about nightmares!
