Larkpaw lay in the apprentices den, bored. Silently, she began to lick the nick she had received in her ear all those years before. That adventure had been her last as a kit, and the memory of it shone bright in her mind. Just thinking about the cats who had hurt her made Larkpaw slide her claws out and hiss. Quietly, and to no one in particular, she murmured, "Someday, I'll be just as strong as those cats. I just have to finish my training!" This gave her new strength and hope as she rose and exited the den.
