Fervent took a deep breath as he came to the clearings edge... "Careers" he thought to himself as he saw two of the other JMDs guarding the cornucopia. Half anger and fear ran threw his fur as his blazing jewel grew brighter "Let the games begin" he whispered to himself. Launching out of the woods like a bullet he set the clearing ablaze for cover. Blue and white flames streaked the ground as grey smoke rose.

Artemis jumped onto Zumo and pined him to the ground covering his mouth with a paw. "Shut up now. You should know I'm okay leaving this arena without you if it comes to that."

He looked up at Artemis, somewhat hurt by what she said, but trying not to show it on his face, he replied, "Oh, so your trying to leave the arena are you? So you want to commit suicide instead of being killed by another tribute?" He smirked. "How clever..."

She quickly healed herself, the jewel on her forehead glowing ever so slightly, "You'll have to watch out for others when I heal you... It tends to be a rather bright happening, and we may be spotted. You need to be healed though. That gash could be infected... Sooner or later. " She went behind him, and flicked her tail, the gem on the end glowing, and touched it to the gash. Steampunk winced as the energy drained. Healing was a messy business...

I settle down and open my pack. inside I find a good surprise. a canister and iodine for the water. like I need the iodine...but whatever.I also find some fruit... quite a bit actually. that takes care of food ouo. looks like I'm . set besides combat. crap... I forgot I did have an ally...my district partner. well...I'd better go find him.might as well have him win with me.
I had into the woods where I spot him. "hey...you know...we could survive together...and trust me...I'm living...so wanna join the winners club?"
