Wings of Fire: The Darkest Hour (Not Accepting)

Pharaoh-
Pharaoh heard a small voice in his ear as his earring started to glow and shimmer. "Did it work?" it beeped, and then the glow from his gemstone was snuffed out. "Heh, yea!" he said. He reached up and struck the surface, and it started to glow again. "Err... Oh yeah! Snowstorm the icewing!" He was already feeling better inside. Everything that had happened today would hopefully blow over by the time they reached the island.

Terra flicked her tail and suddenly spotted a stand selling animus enchanted amulets that prevented burns. She looked at Bayou. "Do we need those?"

Snowstorm grinned, then remembered the citrine necklace she had gotten. She fished through her satchel, bringing it out and holding it up to the sun. It gleamed, the sunlight shining in a million directions. She pulled Pharaoh out of earshot of the others, then said, "I have something for you," in a soft voice. She spread one of Pharaoh's palms out, then placed the citrine necklace in it. She moved Pharaoh's palms together, then the burns he had started to heal.

Bayou tilted his head as he glanced at the stand, then said, "I don't see why not. They may be useful if lava still flows on the island, and one of us gets burned." He walked over, tucking his wings close against his body as the SkyWing selling them looked up and smiled at them. Bayou placed a talon on one of them, then asked, "How much for eight of these?" The SkyWing tilted his head slightly, then said, "However much you think they're worth." Bayou was a little surprised, then glanced at Terra, who had the moonstones.

Terra placed 7 moonstones on the counter. "Here."

Pharaoh-
Pharaoh's eyes widened when the burns started to vanish, and with them, the venom crusted around the edges. He gripped it tighter. "W-what? An ANIMUS sold this to you?!" he said, blown away. It would make a nice necklace... It would go well with the skyfire. Sheesh, looks like he had more 'bling' than he ever thought he'd put on. But it WAS a gift, and from Snowstorm, which made him light up.

Snowstorm glanced up at Pharaoh, tail twitching. "Pharaoh.. I enchanted this," she said quietly, so that no-one else would hear. "But please.. Don't tell anyone else."

The SkyWing nodded and took the gems, smiling. "The amulets are yours." He placed them on a piece of parchment, then wrapped them tightly with a piece of string and handed it to Bayou. The MudWing nodded gratefully, then walked back into the street with Terra. He glanced around at the stands lining the streets, then ran his tongue along his teeth as the scent of meat coming off one stand caught his attention. "Ever tried crane before?" he asked Terra.

[AGGUA!]

Pharaoh-
Pharaoh felt a knife bury itself into his heart. "...Another?" he whispered, trying to keep his voice from cracking. "Like Everest?" He opened up his talons, his burns completely gone, along with the itching. He traced the chain with a talon, then held it out so he could slip it over his horns and rest on his chest, where it bumped against the skyfire. He didn't really know what else to say... What was he SUPPOSED to say? "I won't tell anyone, I would never tell anyone," he finally managed.

Snowstorm sat down with a small sigh. "Thank you, Pharaoh. I promise this is the only thing that I've enchanted, and I won't enchant another so I don't go.. crazy." She glanced down at the sand. "I just hated to see you in pain like that."

[AGGUA!]

Pharaoh-
Pharaoh shook his head. "It wasn't a whole lot compared to... Other things that happened today," he said quietly, rubbing his shoulders with his talons at it got a bit colder. "Between me and Everest spitting at each other and the two skywings, I should've been more aware that all you were trying to do was solve problems. Can't afford to have those where we're going." The sun finally slipped down below the dunes, and Pharaoh shivered, radiating more heat. "Sorry," he finished. Wow, Pharaoh. You're good with words, aren't you? Or are you just getting in the way of yourself?

Snowstorm glanced up at the darkening sky, two of the moons starting to rise above the horizon; one a gibbous, the other a crescent. "All I want is for us to work together," she said finally. "We're the dragonets of destiny. We can't afford another fight that splits us apart, or else the hope of us defeating the NightWings is long gone. That's why I put you and Everest together, and Starkeeper with Hope, and so on." She glanced back at Pharaoh. "But it isn't your fault."
