"I want to be able to take care of myself, there's a difference you know!" Copper yelled, "I hate having to rely on you to take me everywhere. Your dedication is the one that needs to be questioned. I want to learn how to fight, and protect this leash, but how can I do that when I've spent the morning taking a stroll to the river! "The Dragon?" My butt! A REAL dragon would be passing on his skills to the next generation. I want to be able to talk to you, and learn from you, but now I doubt that's ever going to happen! " Angry, Copper stormed to the river and looked at his reflection, his three tails a storm behind him, and his face scowling.

[well since I was late, driving home from work and all I just went with Phantom. XD So why wouldn't they be with the hunting patrol then since they are hunters? ]

Rage burned inside of Ryuu, why couldn't Copper see the importance of protecting the alchemists? Why did he have to be stuck with the most stubborn apprentice? "Ryuu, HELP!" Shiko's scream snapped Ryuu from his thoughts, a bear was looming over the two alchemists. Shiko was standing protectively in front of Rising Hope, but she was shaking violently. With a snarl, Ryuu lept expertly onto the bear's back, he dug his teeth into the bear's scruff, and jumped off of its back, causing the bear to slam into the ground while Ryuu landed gracefully on his feet. He spat its scruff out and tore his claws along its dazed face. The bear recovered, roaring at Ryuu, but the fierce warrior didn't even blink. The bear swiped its claws along Ryuu's side, but Ryuu was used to harsh pain. His two tails lashed threateningly, and he headbutted the bear harshly in the stomach, causing it to have the wind knocked out of it. The bear gasped and doubled over. Ryuu used the back of his paw to knock it in the chin. Blood spattered as the bear's tongue was caught in its smashed jaw. "LEAVE." Ryuu yelled and the bear ran off whimpering in pain. "Are you okay?" Ryuu asked Shiko and Hope, breathing hard.

Shiko calmed, checking her apprentice out, the fox wasn't harmed, neither was she, but Ryuu was breathing hard and blood was spilling onto the ground from his wound. "Yes, we're fine... but we'll treat you when we get back. Hope, gather your moss, we have enough." she murmured and gathered her moss into her mouth.

She listened to Phantom's words but she could barely handle it. How could she fail? She wasn't even in the woods! They were in their nice, comfortable clearing where everyone could see her. "Alright." She nodded her head to him before looking about her, maybe....maybe if she could just catch another bird? A better one!

Copper jumped up when he heard Shiko's cries. He rushed towards the others but Ryuu had everything taken care of before he could get there. Copper looked at Ryuu, Shiko, and Hope before turning tail and running blindly into the forest. Shame burned all throughout his body, and pushed him forward to who knows where. Confused, and cursing himself, Copper finally stopped and realized he was utterly and hopelessly lost.

"Stupid fox..." Ryuu growled under his breath. "Come on, let's hurry back to camp, I have to go after him." Ryuu led Shiko and Rising Hope back to the camp. Shiko and Hope disappeared back into camp and Ryuu sniffed at the air. He caught Copper's scent and ran after him, not caring that his wound burned. "Copper!" Ryuu called out.

Shiko ran her tails comfortingly along her apprentice's back and led her to the giant mushroom that was the alchemist's den. She spit her moss out, "Hope, please put the moss away and make sure it's neat." Shiko instructed her apprentice, "I will be back later." Shiko stayed in the safety of camp, but peeked out to look for Soul.

"Yes, okay." Hope said shakily, walking into the den. She put the moss in a fine spot and padded it softly. She nothing else to do but sit in the den to wait. The thought of the bear made Hope shudder slightly.
Phantom looked at her. "Well, do you think you could try once more? How about one of those hares," He looked at the three hares, still left.

Copper faintly heard Ryuu's calls in the distance, but he pushed himself forward, the last thing he wanted was to see his mentor's face. Glancing back to make sure nothing was behind him, Copper didn't see where he was going and he crashed into Soul. The leash's leader was holding food, and a long gash on his shoulder was bleeding.

Soul looked down at the warrior apprentice, surprised to find him alone. Soul put down the squirrel and two mice he was carrying and helped Copper get to his feet. He sat down and raised his eyebrows, "Let's take the long way back to camp."
