"The kits..." She whispered, her voice almost unaudible between gulping breaths. "The kits...they're..." The tears began to flow more freely as she had trouble ending the sentence, and instead buried her head in her mate's fur. "Oh Thorntail..." She whispered, "What have I done?!"

"Shh, Pebblekit. I'm telling Darkstar tomorrow your ready." Rainpelt promised.

Spottedkit slowly crawled around, squeaking.

[Pumpkin Cupcake]

"Thorntail cuddled his mate for only a couple moments before looking down at his precious kits. He saw two, and he touched his nose to them, their pelts cold. But one she-kit was breathing and struggling to get milk. "Look! One is still alive!"

Russetleap reluctantly pulled away from Thorntail, and looked down at the tiny kit as it tried to move. Gasping softly, she pulled it as close as she could with her fluffy tail, willing it to drink. "Grow, be strong..." She mewed quietly, curling around the tiny bundle.

Spottedkit drank happily, making cute suckling sounds.

Silent gaze runs her tail along her spine, then grabs the 2 kits and pads out, setting the kit down in the clearing.

Thornta sighs and sits down, admiring his young daughter live. "We did it, Russetleap," he whispered, purring quietly.

[-Bacon]

Russetleap let out an exasperated sigh. Did it?! She thought, All I did, was kill our kits!! Her tears continued to flow as she watched Silentgaze take her two, precious, lifeless kits away, and she couldn't help but hang her head. "You name her..." She mewed, barely audible, and rested her head on the ground. "I've done enough already..." She added bitterly, closing her eyes.

Thorntail folded back his ears, feeling inside as if he did something wrong. A spark came to mind. "Spottedkit," he said before padding out of the nursery and looking up at the stars. He then went out the entrance of the camp and headed in for a while before stopping at a small area where the moonlight spread loft paw print patterns by the leaves onto the ground. With tears in his eyes, he yowled up at StarClan. "What have I done wrong?!" he asked. "I have done nothing to deserve this! My mate is upset about two kits dying, and now we have only one. Why do you do this to us? Have we betrayed you? The one moment I wanted you, and all you do is stare. Am I worthless to you now? Did I lose half of my tail to defend my Clan, or for nothing? I need answers!?!" Thorntail gazed up at StarPelt with fury in his eyes before pouncing back into camp and into the warriors den, collapsing on his moss bed.

Firekit was shocked "I don't wanna go! Mr.Big red cat who comes from the stars told me! Pweaseee!" Firekit exclaimed, Goldenkit just watched. Greykit nodded "Please! I wanna learn the ways of being brave! Not alone!" River watched the kits fight for the rights of staying. She couldn't help it, she was persuaded by her dead mate. "Rainpelt. Your clan won't mind would they?" She asked with a smile. Firekit and Greykit hopped around River "Yay!".
