She sighed loudly as she looked around but didn't find enything to do. She decided to head toward the lake not far away and started to walk with heavy steps. Her curly mane waved in the rythm of her walking and her brown eyes looked empty at the road ahead.

Badger bowed his head some after hearing the mare's name. "It is a pleasure to meet you Kassandra." he said before raising his eyes to look at her. His tail flicked some as he shifted his weight, releasing one of his hooves from holding him and letting it relax. His eyes would drift over to the stallions that were behind her then shifted back to look at her.
"So what brings you to these parts of the bayou?" he questioned, wondering what did bring her to where he was laying himself under the tree that now stood behind him. His ears twitched as he managed to catch the murmuring of the stallions that had approached them then stooped; he wasn't really interested in what they had to say, he was more interested in what Kassandra was going to say instead.

"We're all just stories in the end."

Kassandra was feeling that this meeting was quite stiff and business-like, so she moved forwards. She walked past Badger and over to the tree he had been laying under, grabbing a low hanging branch in her mouth. She dragged her teeth across the branch, ripping off all the leaves. She chewed a moment and swallowed, looking back over to the boys. She was smiling, showing off her sharp, kelpie canines. As for the stallion's question, she obviously couldn't tell him the truth, there was a reason not too many kelpies knew of the old man and his reading. "Nothing in particular, I was wandering. Well, I suppose I was also looking." She grabbed another branch, but instead of just stripping this one of leaves, she broke it off the tree and carried it with her as she trotted to Badger's side. "Looking for my family." She explained, conjuring that excuse up quickly and easily, for her twins were never too far from her immediate thoughts.
She had dropped the brach before she had begun to talk again, it now lay at her and Badger's hooves. She lowered her head to nibble at a few of the leaves, her eyes always focused on at least one of the stallions, usually Badger.

Badger's emerald eyes would follow the mare as she strode over to the tree, ate some leaves then brought a branch back over to where he and a few other stallions were. Slowly moving closing to where they branch lay, he lowered his head and took a few leaves from the branch. After swallowing, he remembered what she had said about her being here. "Ah looking for family, I do hope you find them." he said, feeling a bit more comfortable around her.
A soft sigh could be heard from this male just before he laid himself down again, enjoying the feeling of the grass under him once again. "It's good that you have family around here, it must be nice.." he stated, lifting his head towards the sky.

Kassandra curiously watched the puzzling stallion as he laid down before her and the branch. It was a vulnerable position, but not very because of the kelpie's rank as a predator. But still, it must mean that he trusted her. Already? She was a bit flattered, but told herself that he'd just laid down: no big deal. "Well, thank you. It is nice most of the time, but of course it come with complications." She explained, thinking of Desiderius. She had mixed feelings about him now and he would obviously be with the twins. She sighed and looked down at Badger. "Well, I don't suppose you've seen them this far out, but have you seen any one come through here lately?" It was a long shot, but the dark mare thought she should at least ask.
