Veiled by a Song: PM to Join (Fox RP)

Apollo vigorously shook his head, still shaken up after falling into the river. "No thanks, Raven. I think I'll sit out this time." He settled down in the shade, wrapping his tail around his front paws.

Time passed slowly for Bluebell as she had her fox cubs. It was excruciating, yet one of the most beautiful moments of her life. She birthed two cubs, both black and white. "Welcome, little ones," she said tenderly, leaning her head down to lick the newborn baby cubs dry. Kunai, she thought, looking at one of the cubs. Haiku, she thought, looking at the other. My cubs. Bluebell relaxed, thinking that the birthing was over. Suddenly, pain racked her whole body. One more cub came. Bluebell gasped in shock. The newborn black fox cub lay dead at her side, dead. "A.. a stillborn..." she stammered. "He.. he looks like Creo." Bluebell turned away from the dead cub, tears streaming down her face. She couldn't bear to look at the cub again.

Jupiter had stayed by Bluebell's side throughout the whole birth, and tears of her own streamed down in both joy and sorrow as she saw the new cubs and then the stillborn. "Are you alright?" She asked gently. She glanced back at the dead cub that looked so much like Creo and instantly felt her own maternal instincts scream to try to make her help it. She then returned her focus to Bluebell.

Leaf Fall nodded and thundered after Wisp, finally reaching Soul. He dipped his head in greeting and then watched his leader expectantly.

"Leaf Fall, Wisp," Soul said, nodding to each of them in turn. "I've already taken care of of Kikiara and Sasha, so no need to worry about that, young Wisp. However, the demon is far too large to bury by myself, which is why the three of us will have to dig a hole large enough for it before dragging it in. Wisp, you may start over there," He indicated with his tail towards the area that wasn't too close to the monster before continuing, "Leaf Fall and I will work together towards the side closest to it. If at any time, either of you feels uncomfortable, you may leave. Let's get to work." Soul called the last few words over his shoulder as he padded towards the body. His nose wrinkled in disgust at the decaying odor and he began to dig.

Leaf Fall nodded, though he knew that he wouldn't leave. He would bury this disgusting demon and get it out of his sight. Padding carefully around it, he noticed several pools of acid and poison. "Soul, Wisp, look. The demons poison is still active. If you get some one you, you could end up like Jakei..." He grimaced and the thought of Jakei's recent agony with his burned shoulder and elegantly dodged another pool. He got near the head of the large demon and nearly passed out from the waves of the stench. It was putrid and sickly sweet all at once.

Shiko was glad to see that the whole birth had gone well, though, her eyes widened in astonishment as another cub came. Why hadn't she felt it? Horrified when she realized it was stillborn, she gently shut its eyelids to make it look like it was sleeping. "Rest in peace, little cub..." she murmured, then licked at the other two, glad to see they were both extremely healthy. "The other two are very strong." Shiko said encouragingly, giving Bluebell a sad smile.

Bluebell was shaking too hard to answer either Jupiter or Shiko. She pulled her two healthy cubs towards her belly. The suckling of Haiku and Kunai helped calm Bluebell. A few minutes later after the initial shock subsided, she shakily asked Shiko,"Is this a sign from Knari?" She pointed with her nose to the dead cub that looked just like Creo.

Shiko sat down, wrapping her three tails around herself. Taking a deep breath, she looked at the dead cub carefully. "Probably... I think... Creo was meant to die, there was darkness in his heart." Shiko said wisely, unable to take her eyes off of the dead cub.

Heron nodded, "Alright, are we heading back to camp?" He was a bit restless.

Wisp nodded stiffly. She walked over to the spot Soul had indicated and began to dig, carefully avoiding the black terrible blood. She dug and dug until her paws hurt, but she didn't stop. She just wanted to get this whole mess over with.

Phantom grinned greatly, he always wanted to have a good swim in the river. "I'm 'comin!" He said before kicking up his paws and sploshing into the cool riverwater. His tail waved around in the water like a limp feather. Phantom gazed at the sky, watching a green little bird chirping around the sky. It reminded him of Kinari greatly, and at this he smiled. But a little thought came into his mind. "What do you guys think what's happening at camp?" The question seemed to quiver in his voice, for some sort of reason.

Jupiter listened to Shiko's and Bluebell's conversation with grim interest. Could this have been a sign? Surely this innocent, young cub couldn't be the monster his father had turned into! Her eyes blurred with tears thinking of how unfair it was that this life had been lost, just as it had begun. She averted her eyes so the others couldn't see the battle happening inside of her.

Leaf Fall narrowly missed a small pool of the poison blood and a chill ran down his spine. He dug quickly, not minding the work; his paws were rough and strong from the running that he did hunting and endurance was no issue. His face was grim and serious as he kept plowing through the earth, trying to determine how deep they needed to go. The demon was very large, so they probably had a ways to go.
