Dawnweaver peeked her head into the nursery with a shrew and vole for the queens. She paused and asked, "Wheres Koisplash?"

Otterkit mewed loudly. He was getting rather hungry. He couldn't smell his mother anymore. He began to crawl forward, but ended up hitting his sister.

Patchkit squealed in protest. She had been rolled over and started to mew as well. She couldn't find warmth and was becoming cold.

[ʞ ɔ ǝ ɹ ʍ d ı ʞ s]

Dawnweaver rushed inside, gently setting the prey down and wrapped her soft, pluming tail around the kits, horror and worry filling her.

Otterkit squealed when something soft and fluffy wrapped around him. He squirmed a bit, and ended up hitting his sister in her shoulder.

Patchkit tried to sit up, but failed. She fell down just before Otterkit kicked her.

"You two be nice to each other," Dawnweaver scolded quietly, helping Patchkit up with a gentle paw.

Otterkit looked up, his gentle eyes just now beginning to blink, he could finally see. He squinted a bit before letting out a long yawn. He wrinkled up his nose at the smell of something nasty. "Was dat?" He asked in a teeny, chirpy voice.

Patchkit opened her eyes as well, the world coming to view around her. She gasped when she saw how big the cat next to them was. "Ma you big!" She said in a high pitched, squealy voice.

Dawnweaver was about to answer Otterkit when Patchkit spoke and she was rendered speechless. Should she tell them she wasnt their mother? She must. Koisplash loved them and she knew it. "Im not youre mother," she said gently, her amber eyes glowing kindly.

Patchkit looked up at Rainweaver. "Da?" She asked, very confused. She knew that everyone had a mom and a dad. Where were hers? She blinked.

Otterkit tilted his head slightly. "Who awe wu?" He asked. He coughed once, then sat up straighter. "Who are you?" He asked again.

"Well my name is Dawnweaver," she said with a reassuring smile.
