He lifted his shoulder "I was thinking of river, there are rocks, open areas anything which could make your little show more challenging" he meowed knowing that near the river was no place to fight, as there were so many things which can ruin your chances of winning. They walked behind the others not wanting to be in anyone's way or separate the mentors to their apprentices, when the spot was right they decided to move elsewhere to hunt and given the others place to train. Watching around for a moment, Muddylake sniffed the air to scent some close by preys, starting to go their way to get something back to camp.

The small she-cat instantly felt bad after getting so protective over her adoptive mother, she knew Slashkit meant no harm by it. Acornkit looked over at the snall tom, “I’m sorry I got so protective.” She paused. “She’s my mom—it’s hard to explain.” The she-cat padded over to Slashkit, gently batting at his head, trying to make light of the conversation.

The large tabby shook his fur out, a few leaves flying off of him as he did so. Glancing around the makeshift den of sticks and leaves and the like, he realized that he would have to go hunting today as he’d finished the last of his rabbit last night.

He’s smaller than you.” Evercloud lightly warned, not wanting to have Acornkit accidentally hurt him even though she knew for a fact that she wouldn’t have meant to.

"No worries," Kestreldawn meowed, stuttering to a halt in her steps. It was a rather strange request, but she heeded it regardless, since they weren't in a rush at all. Before she could open her mouth to ask any more, another voice interrupted her.

"Alright," she replied to the other warrior, dipping her head in greeting. Turning back to Vinepaw, she gave him a small nudge. "Looks like your feeling was right," she noted with a friendly laugh. An apologetic look replaced the amused smile on her face. "Maybe we could go out for training in the afternoon, if you're not too worn out?" Border patrols involved a lot of walking, and even when uneventful, could be pretty tiring. Especially for the smaller cats, with their shorter legs. The thought brought another amused smile to her face. With a flick of her tail, the she-cat rose to her feet and fell into line behind Riverclaw. "Feel free to take the lead," she mewed to the tom. "Are we going to any area in particular?"

Maplepaw perked up at the suggestion. By the river would surely be a challenge, but the more difficulty, the better. High risk, high reward, am I right? he thought to himself ambitiously. "Sounds good to me!" he chirped, grinning in anticipation. He shared a chuckle at his mentor's joke, but it was a nervous one. Fishing was again, not his forte, since it required precise and coordinated movements. Quite the opposite of his tendencies towards brute force. Maybe it would be better if he did scare all the fish away... but anyways, that would come after his fighting display. That was a future problem to worry about. Scrambling to his feet, he bounded after Deerblaze.
