Soulpaw stayed still, his gaze still averted.

Iceflower groaned as the small bundle popped out, Softwillow taking it from the sac. "Female, brown tabby." She purred to Soulpaw. "Now whether you like it or not, come over here and clean this kit." She ordered, hissing urgently.

He stiffened, but followed her orders, cleaning the kit reluctantly.

Iceflower bowled coughs as she screeched, causing her to have small choking fits.

Soulpaw stiffened, "How long has she been coughing?" He asked his mentor.

"I... don't know..." Softwillow murmured, staring worriedly at the last kit that came out. It was small, and had an extra toe on each paw, its muzzle a bit deformed.

Soulpaw narrowed his eyes, "What's wrong with that one?" He asked rudely.

"What's wrong with you?" Softwillow retorted, anger flaring in her eyes. Can't this stupid tom at least be nice in front of his mother? "It's beautiful." She said, licking it's fur after popping it out of gooey sac.
