Kyra was halfway to her den when she heard violent rustling noises behind her. Turning around, she saw the white tom from before. "You're not supposed to be here, are you?" she asked. It was quite obvious, judging by the slightly nervous look in his forest green eyes.

Cloverleaf

"Actually, I'm not," he replied to the she-cat, staring at his paws. Silence hung in the air between them, when he finally glanced up at her. "I just wanted to let you know that no harm was done with you crossing the borders. I'm sure ShadeClan would welcome you anytime," he meowed. "Actually, I think you would make a pretty great warrior. You must be a great hunter, since you managed to outrun both Ravenwing and Moonsplash," Cloverleaf added, the hint of a smile on his face.

Moonsplash.
Moonsplash growled in a low tone to herself, turning around. She pelted to back to camp, thinking harshly. Are cat's in this clan deaf? They should know that when a loner is off territory, they are free! She padded through the enterance of camp, her eyes narrowed in an sharp glare. She walked up to her favorite tree in the camp and laid down beside it, her muzzle resting on top of one her forepaws.

Kyra blushed, and averted her eyes. "Er... thanks," she mumbled. "I'll think about joining. Meet me tomorrow at the crooked tree beyond the borders. Sunhigh. See you then!" She smiled slightly and bounded off to her den.

Cloverleaf

He nodded and watched her dash away. Turning back to his own territory, it dawned on him what he was going to do. Tomorrow, at sunhigh, at the crooked tree beyond our borders, I'm meeting with a loner with no cat knowing. Doesn't that go against the Warrior code? Yes, it does. And then: But I don't care anymore. Cloverleaf smiled a wide, crooked smile, which he hadn't done in moons. He raced back to the border, hoping to stay out of sight from any Clan cats, when he ran right into Mapleheart, his face falling as soon as he saw her expression.

Mapleheart

She sat up, not quite knowing what happened. When she opened her eyes, she saw the cat she had been searching for. "Cloverleaf! What in the name of StarClan were you thinking, leaving Clan territory like that? Do you want rogues and loners to attack us again? You could have been..." she chocked up on the word, but they both knew what it was.

Cloverleaf

One second, he was sympathetic for his half-sister. The next second, he was releasing his frustration and anger that had been balled up inside of him. "You want me to say it? Fine: I could have been killed! But I wasn't! Want to know why? Because I stopped being such a coward and hiding from the world beyond our territory! I want to see what's out there! I want to live again! Is that so much to ask?" Cloverleaf's eyes became wet with tears. "I know how much they meant to you. I loved Mistycloud with all of my heart, and Applekit was the best kit I've ever met. But the difference between us, Mapleheart, is that I've already moved on, while you've been clinging to your memories of them, like you can just, I don't know, bring them back or something!" Suddenly he couldn't take it anymore. "Just grow up, will you? The past is in the past. Move on. I already have." Hissing, Cloverleaf turned and raced away, away from his half-sister, away from his horrors, away from his Clan. His heart ached with the knowledge of what he'd done to Mapleheart. He remembered her collapse on her paws, her shoulders shaking. Why? Why did I shout at her? She is fragile, broken- I want to put her back together, not destroy her. But he couldn't go back now. All he wanted at the moment was to be alone.

Kyra plopped down in the hollow at the crooked tree. Lying down, she rested hr head on her paws and thought hard. She thought until her eyes closed and she fell asleep.

Moonsplash.
Moonsplash's claws sunk into the soil beneath her paws as she shot an glare at the sky. "Mouse-brained cats." She whispered in a low tone to herself.

Kyra woke up to see the shadows longer than before. It was nearly sunset. She got up and her belly growled. I haven't eaten all day... she fumed. Looking around, she spotted a rabbit. Rare prey! She smiled and dropped into a crouch. Slowly she stalked it, but it hopped away. Cursing, she sprinted after it, the rabbit only a few pawsteps ahead. She put large leap into her run and successfully caught it. Proudly she dragged it back to her den and tucked in. Once she finished it, her belly was comfortably full and she fell asleep.

Mapleheart

Mapleheart yawned and opened her eyes, staring at the wild greenery surrounding her and confused as to why she wasn't sleeping in her nest at the camp. Then yesterday's events flashed through her mind much too quickly, and she remembered running blindly away from Cloverleaf, after he said those things to her... but he ran from her as well. Where could he have gone? she pondered for a minute, then sighed and decided to return to camp. She wasn't in charge of his decisions. If Cloverleaf wanted to spend some time away from his Clan, then that was his decision, not Mapleheart's. She stared up at the sky. Oh, StarClan, keep him safe, she begged to her ancestors.

He finally collapsed from exhaustion at the edge of a clearing. How long have I been running? He looked up at the sky. It seemed to be just past dawn. Have I been running all night? Cloverleaf turned and looked around. Where am I? And more importantly- he sat up in shock- how much time do I have to return home, so I can meet up with that loner? He had no idea as to where he was, but he figured he could probably make it back home in time if he really hustled. His nose in the air, Cloverleaf turned around and raced back to his territory, following his scent trail.

Kyra woke up and saw it was dawn. Heaving herself to her paws she made her final decision. She would join the clan. Besides, hunting for herself got tiring, and there no other loners to keep her company. Suddenly, a mouse dashed in front of her. In a lightning fast reaction she killed it and ate it. She looked at her den, the crooked tree. She sighed, thinking that it made an exceptionally good den. Well, she just had to wait for the white tom now.
